¶ … Sporting Competition
It was a beautiful summer, as I was thinking about the junior world championship in Bucharest, I was very nervous and my legs literally felt like they weighed a million pounds each. As I climbed up the stairs and stepped on the mat, I felt as if I stepped onto a giant Tempurpedic mattress.
My feet sank in, and my heart was beating a faster mile a minute. I knew that the next thing to do is to read my daily affirmation before each match and this would calm me down. However, this was the world championships, the biggest stage that a boy of between 17 and 20-year-old could wrestle at in the world. I knew that going into the match is going to be a big challenge because I was up against a two-time world champion who had accumulated a lot of experience in the field.
Compared to my level of experience which was below my challenger's experience, I believed that I was going to win despite my level of experience. I was able to hold a complete control and was neither heavy legged nor nervous. When I was a young boy, I remembered vividly hearing the blow of the referee's whistle, which was like a switch went off in my head. I still remembered the competition that was carried out during this period, and the method a challenger won the competition, I would use the same method to win my challenger.
During the challenge with my competitor, I tried to fake my strategy to put him off balance. As he was waiting for my opening, I pulled at the right side and he stepped at the left side. At that moment, I flung forward at him with all my power and swung right at him using a double leg to kick him in the ass.
As I watched the tape, I remembered thinking to myself "okay here we go, let's see if he can stop this," once he didn't, it was all over. I looked at my coaches and gave a little smirk. I ended up winning the match. As I watched...
I believe that the first strategy is to be among the sportsmen to be selected for the competition in my country since the competition involves representing a nation. Thus, I need to do a lot of preparation and training so that I will be selected to represent my country. Although, I believe that the selection procedure is not going to be my problem because I am among the best sportsmen in my country.
The big challenge is to win gold or silver medal in the Olympic competition. Thus, I relaxed on a comfortable sofa in my room and started drawing a plan to win a medal in the Olympic competition.
Olympic sport is a leading international sporting event with over 200 participating nations. A winner of gold medal in an Olympic game is similar to a nation that wins a world cup. As I intend to represent my country in the next Olympic sport, my determination is to win a gold medal and rank first in my championship. Although, I realize that winning a gold medal is highly challenging because I have to face a lot of experienced athletes, nevertheless, my goal is to rank the best and win the first price.
Several benefits I will derive from winning the gold medal. Apart from the financial benefits that I will derive from earning the gold medal, I will also be recognized international, which will make me be known worldwide. Moreover, the price will enhance the image of my country because the Olympic sport is highly competitive, winning a medal in the game is highly challenging
Since my determination is to win the gold medal in the next Olympic, the strategy is to prepare myself…
