One concern with this, though, is that the workers may be conditioned to paint a rosy picture or otherwise obfuscate what is really going on due to concerns about perceptions and what the research will play out. The question posed to the staff should be as innocent and not subject to bias as much as is reasonable and possible. People answering the questions should be urged to be candid and honest.

The use of anonymous surveys is probably a good idea since people will be much more apt to be honest if they don't feel that their personal responses are being scrutinized.
