The enemies of Rome had quickly taken advantage of the situation and marched towards the great city without encountering great resistance in their way. The last days of the Roman Empire had been in the year of 476 a.D. with the deposition of Romulus Augustus, the last emperor of the great empire.
Similar to the Romans, the Americans have managed to build a great country and to be the leaders of the world. Colonizing the American continent and gathering together people of all nations, the settlers had managed to make the New Land a hospitable place. As the Romans defeated and conquered many nations, the Americans defeated the Native Americans and took their lands away from them. Both the Romans and the Americans had helped other nations by modernizing their countries and bringing civilization to the locals. The power of the U.S. citizens rapidly expanded over the north of the continent and cities began to appear along with the industrial revolution and the technology that spread around the country.

Some of the most important people in the world now live in the U.S. And some of the most important institutions in the world have their headquarters here, too.
Even if the Roman Empire had fallen, despite of its power, history has little chances of repeating itself because of the fact that now rulers are elected carefully and only after people chose their leader from a group of selected professionals.
