However, I think that I also need to convey to the audience the message that my company intends to extend its market share and looks forward to a long-term sustainable growth rather than short-term profits.
In terms of the structure of the presentation, I will start with a brief presentation of myself and of my credentials. After a brief presentation of my general business idea, I will go into an analysis of distance learning and the distance learning market, to create the premises that will support my idea. I can then describe the external environment in which the business will evolve, along with the internal organizational plans I will be creating. Finally, the business plan will insist on financial information that the audience is likely to find very useful.
I think that a PowerPoint presentation is the best choice for communicating my ideas. I am thinking, first of all, of…
Instead, the better service recovery strategy was to focus on what empirical research suggest is most critical to British airline passengers, and that is the managing of customer request/fault scenarios (Lorenzoni, Lewis, 2004). Providing 15.000 credited miles on the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club is three times the amount of miles flown on the leg of the flight being complained about. This is payment for not only the flight but the stress of not having food for nearly eight hours that was palatable to the passenger. Again reverting to the perceived severity of the issue, opting to provide the 15,000 air lines is very low cost but very high perceived value, an excellent strategy for overcoming sever service recovery issues (Craighead, Karwan, Miller, 2004). Second, mailing the £100 American Express Gift Certificate in the letter written says that Virgin Atlantic is very sincere in its apology. In effect the Gift Certificate…

As a recent graduate with a degree from an Ivy League university, soon to complete his MBA, I am often asked I regret my major in finance and economics. I am reminded of the many scandals that are currently plaguing my field of study, and the many layoffs Wall Street has experienced. However, in my view, there is no more exciting time to be a part of the changing economic landscape. Armed with an MBA, I believe that I can help change the attitudes the public currently has towards Wall Street. I have several questions pertinent to the food business. First of all, does Pappa John's have any advice in cutting costs regarding a food budget? Pappa John's offers so much variety as well as quality. In my organization I would not simply like to deliver chicken, but entire family meals reminiscent of the Southern United States, including corn bread, biscuits, greens, and sweet potatoes. How does Pappa John's balance the need between freshness, variety, and the bottom line? Also, what is the Pappa John policy in terms of selecting drivers with good records, who will transport the food with speed?
Lastly, there is a question of funding. How did the original 'Pappa' tap into the funding sources to create the first establishment, at so young an age? What was the 'sell' for the business that garnered the original funding for the first 'Pappa John'?
Any additional advice you could provide…

This is particularly the case given that most businesses are usually engaged in many different kinds of operations and undertakings, which have unique documentation needs. In basic terms, business documents are used for record keeping, communication, analysis, and verification purposes. The three business documents which will be highlighted in this text are business letters, invoices, and quotations. These documents come in handy in the communication, verification, and analysis of various business undertakings.
Business Letters
Business letters differ significantly from other letters written in non-business scenarios. In addition to being formal, they also tend to be brief and concise. Business letters could be drafted in diverse scenarios and for a wide range of reasons. A basic business letter has several unique parts or sections. These, according to the Purdue University Online Writing Lab, include the sender's address, the date, the inside address, the salutation, the…

Canadian Expansion Research have recently been contacted by the Minister of Trade and Commerce for Canada, who contacted me for the purpose of encouraging urger Delight to expand into the Canadian market. I have researched the Canadian market and have found expansion into the area to be a promising possibility.
The major benefits are the similarity between America and Canada which assure product acceptance, ease of entry and profitable sales.
I have provided an overview of the research below, describing the research findings and providing justification for continued consideration of the possibility of expansion.
Canadian Culture
The major factor that supports the idea of expansion into Canada is the similarity between Canadian culture and American culture. The similarities extend from language, to belief systems to lifestyle.
These similarities mean that product and promotional programs developed for the American market would be equally effective in the Canadian market, allowing for the…

Any information you would feel comfortable sharing with me would be invaluable. I would also be interested in any advice you could give to me regarding insuring the faculties of a day care center and the hiring procedures necessary to recruit quality personnel to watch the children during the day.
Any additional advice you could provide, from toys to curriculum, to potential problems I may need to anticipate, to how to set the core policies of the organization (from basic fees to requiring toddlers to be toilet trained) would also be extremely helpful. I realize you are busy, but I would be glad to speak with you over the phone (my phone number is xxx-xxx-xxxx) or visit you at The Gingerbread House if that is more convenient, to discuss any advice you might have.

esearch states that using bolded text will More times than not the other side will over emphasize your emphasis," (Kallos 2010). It is clear that emphasis was desired on this, most likely based on the fact that the team failed to provide what was required. Yet, research also states that generally "Instead of relying on formatting for emphasis, build your vocabulary to use adjectives and verbs that relay the specific emphasis you desire," (Kallos 2010). Thus, a better use of vocabulary might have been less insulting to the audience than the bold text. There is a grammatical mistake, which does lesson the credibility of the writer some -- it's in this case is actually possessive pronoun, not the combination of it and is, and should be its. The power of the annoyed tone continues to grow as the message ends. The second paragraph seems to be its climax. There are…

This means that these products of high quality can be purchased at smaller prices in comparison with the prices of competitors.

It is foolish according to the attorney of Kim for Coach to threaten its customers with $2 million lawsuits and before antagonizing customers the company must do a minimal investigation and it is not known how many customers got scared and paid off Coach. Kim, had worked for the Coach in 2004, filed suit saying among other major charges that the company wanted to suppress online sale of used items to pay high prices to the company for a Coach handbag. There is a problem for all companies which grapple with counterfeiting and it is often seen on Craigslist and eBay. Along with Kim one more eBay seller, James Caffarella of Littleton, Mass was also sued when he tried to sell legitimate silver golf-ball Tiffany key chain using a stock photograph. He too received…

Under this system, "each joint venture partner would separately account for and pay tax on its income and claim the proportionate share of joint venture expenses" (Ernst & Young, no date).
Liability is also limited in the joint venture under Australian law. It is worth noting that in this case one part of the joint venture "cannot make the other joint venturer liable for debts that they incur in the name of the joint venture, unless authorized under the joint venture agreement" (Cordato Partners, 2012). Thus, John cannot undertake a cost and then ask Fred to foot part of the bill. This is something that differentiates a joint venture from a partnership, and is worth taking into consideration, depending on how the two men expect to handle the operations and financing of the venture. This also makes joint ventures a little bit more complicated to manage than a partnership, because…

Letter of intent: Diploma in Human Resources Management at McGill University
Over the course of my business career I have had the privilege of exercising leadership in a number of capacities in the marketing field. Most recently, I worked as a marketing coordinator at Best Kitchen and Bath - Modern Lamps. There, I engaged in market analysis; coordinated media-related activities; and increased the company's presence online and at tradeshows. Working for a relatively small, emerging organization was very gratifying because I was able to use my capabilities and knowledge in many different capacities. Previously, I worked for Microsoft as a marketing and sales associate. This offered me a completely different perspective on the field: my duties were highly specialized for this larger entity, and I focused specifically on the areas of organizing marketing events and performing marketing research. Both positions required me to use my quantitative as well as my…
Letter to Supervisor
Dear Supervisor:
have been working as a buyer for Sears for five years and during that time I have demonstrated dedication to the company by providing excellent service. Also, I honor the company and hope to preserve our integrity by continuing to provide the quality of product and service that our customers expect. It is with this attitude of respect that I am writing this letter. I would like to express some concern about one of our vendors, which I feel has violated our trust and can potentially undermine our respectability as a company. You as head buyer should know, therefore, that I have decided to cease making purchases from Acme Furniture Manufacturers.
One of our company's strengths is its dedication to employee diversity and cultural awareness. One look around the staff rooms or around any department floor will prove that diversity and tolerance are key words…
One set of concepts from each area was utilized to explain how the situation at Grand Bois may have come about. The end goal of the authors was to "provide business practitioners, ethics teachers, and readers interested in corporate conduct with insights useful in understanding why managers may act the way they do."
It could be argued, according to Hamilton and Berken (2005), that Exxon managers had made a sound business judgment, based on facts that were not known, at the time. The industry still contends that the majority of exploration and production waste contains no harmful compounds, and that for this reason the disposal techniques that are used at the Grand Bois facility were not only cost effective, but also environmentally safe.
Just because the exemption of this waste for hazardous materials was brought about by political lobbying does not mean that it is not scientifically or justified.

A useful recommendation in this sense is represented by the contracting of a local law firm to ease the company's penetration into the region and to help us understand and overcome the initial barriers. But aside from understanding and complying with the regulations, it is also essential to understand and comply with the cultural features.
India is one of the oldest and most impressive global cultures. And its culture has also impacted the means in which business is conducted. One specific means is represented by the language barriers which are raised. And not only that the representatives of the two countries would speak different languages, it is highly possible that the representatives of India speak different languages among themselves. This is because the states of India have different official languages, and some states even have more than one official language (Kwintessential).
In terms of actual relationships between the Indians, these…

In addition, we might ask ourselves if the richer nations have or not a greater responsibility as far as the research and development in the area of sustainable energy are concerned. (Reid, environmentalleader.com)
elieving that there are such energy sources or consumption policies which would allow the planet's resources to be maintained for a longer period, while making sure that all the nations are provided with a comfortable living is rather naive. Under these circumstances, it has been argued that doing the moral thing means choosing the least terrible solution. The problem is that this implies a relativistic evaluation of the matter which impacts the manner in which the moral principles are conceived.
efore stepping into a debate regarding the character of the moral principles, we may state that we agree with the opinions which state that there is no such thing as objective moral principles."Ethics can be seen as…

Business Message: Wyndham Hotel Customer Survey Message
Almost every consumer is familiar with this type of form letter request for information from a business. The purpose (intention or goal) of such messages is twofold. First and foremost, it is designed to elicit information that may be useful to the company (the sender or transmitter) in terms of how it offers its services. If, for example, mothers with children complain that there are insufficient play facilities on the premises, Wyndham can add more child-friendly spaces in its hotels that attract a wide variety of families. Offering a place to air grievances also enables the hotel to 'make up' to a dissatisfied customer (the reader or receiver). It is rare that the average dissatisfied customer cannot be pacified with a free night at the hotel or a full or partial refund for the services he or she was dissatisfied with -- and…
Having this traditional silo-structured environment makes it very difficult to properly develop a curriculum surrounding service management. Because of this there is a significant gap that exists between the education received by business school graduates and the skills that they need to succeed in today's service heavy environment.
Non-traditional Business Skills and Tactics
Nontraditional business skills are often referred to as soft skills or people skills. These consist of the ability to communicate and understand people on an emotional level. These are often the skills that can determine the success or failure of a career (Thilmany, 2009). The skills are all related to human interaction. This includes most forms of communication, negotiation and leadership. Soft skills can be distinguished by different types such as informative, negotiating, listening, and communicative. Informative soft skills are those that send a message that has to be conveyed accurately. Negotiating or convincing soft skills is…

The online community presents the reader with a multitude of information on how to write the business plan. A valid source in this sense is represented by Maire Loughran's article on the About.com website. Throughout this article, the author identifies a total of eight key elements to be integrated in the business plan. These refer to the next ones:
The executive summary which states the objectives of the plan
The provision of general information on the company soliciting the funds from the potential equity investors
The description of the products and/or services to be provided by the firm
The objective and factual analysis of the industry, the market and the competition encountered by the economic agent
The provision of more detailed company information, including primarily data on the managerial team, the organization and the ownership of the firm
The marketing plan as an integrated effort…

Business Ethics
Pattern of Ethical Challenges
One company that consistently makes the news because of ethical issues is Walmart. This essay examines business ethics as practiced at Walmart.
Founded in 1962, Walmart has grown to sales of $405 billion and more than 2.1 million associates worldwide. The company is now ranked as the world's largest retail chain. But that explosive growth has also made Walmart an exceptional target. How many companies can boast of their own dedicated watchdog organizations, whose sole purpose is monitoring the company's performance on a wide range of issues related to business ethics? Walmart is such a company, although it would probably prefer otherwise. According to the website of Walmart Watch, it exists solely to "hold Walmart fully accountable for its impact on communities, the American workforce, the retail sector, the environment and the nation's economy" (Walmart Watch, 2011). Launched in 2005, Walmart Watch's stated purpose…
Business Communications Final Analysis Report
In order to apply the strategies and decisions formulated in the initial phases of the communication research, they are applied in the context of business communication, particularly in group decision-making processes. In the final analysis report, the case study on the Creative Media team conflict is discussed, addressing the prevalent issues that bring about miscommunication within the team.
The case study on the Creative Media team situation has the following specifics: Gap Jeans, Inc. is planning to launch a new advertising campaign for its new product, called the Gap Washed Jeans, which features a denim-wash (faded look) feature for women, which will be available in hipster and flared styles. Gap is looking for a creative ad agency that will conceptualize and produce the ad campaign, although specific information about the nature of the ad campaign is not yet formulated. Thus, the whole advertising and marketing…
The grand jury returned a 112-count indictment against Steve Warshak, company president; his mother, Harriet Warshak; general counsel Paul Kellogg; and former employees Charles Clarke Jr., Steven Pugh and Amar Chavan. A company called TCI Media, which was allegedly used to launder money, was also part of the indictment. The charges include 77 counts of money laundering, 12 counts of mail fraud and four counts of bank fraud (Berkeley president, others indicted for fraud, 2006).
After the Grand Jury indictments were handed down The U.S. Attorney's Office in Cincinnati filed a new complaint against Berkeley Premium Nutraceuticals that included the freezing of various assets worth almost $2 million. The complaint alleged that Berkeley owner Steven Warshak and others participated in a complex, large scale mail and wire fraud operation. This amounted to another felony charge being added to the long list that had already been handed down. The frozen assets…

Cash in advance is a method that often seems preferable to the selling entity in a typical exporting transaction, as they receive the agreed-upon amount of cash (or a credit card payment, which is equivalent to cash in this scenario) for their goods prior to shipping them, guaranteeing the cash flow needed for the next cycle (UNZCO 2010). This can create cash flow problems for the buy entity, however, as they must pay for the product before they receive cash from the end consumer and thus must carry the balance in the interim (UNZCO 2010). Letters of credit, which give a guarantee from a financial institution to the exporter that the goods will be paid for assuming all conditions are met, provided added assurance to exporters that the transaction will truly be profitable, while insulating importers from the cash flow issues described above (UNZCO 2010).

This is a most important question today, for it is sometimes said that the pursuit of profit ought not to be the primary and dominant goal of a business firm but rather must be balanced by concern for customers, employees, or society. In order to see what the standards for proper managerial conduct might be, we need to understand what is meant by "free market society."
Management Goals
Within a free market society, it is generally thought that the primary goal of a business organization is the attainment of profit. Though businesses often consider other objectives (service to customers, employee needs and well-being, assistance to the needy) it cannot be denied that the attainment of profit is the overall and guiding objective of the business organization. Thus, the first question that managerial ethics should consider is whether or not it is ethically proper to make the attainment of profit the…

Business Plan
Marketing Business Plan
This proposal is a precursor for a fully evaluative marketing business plan. It will be used to create a dedicated and focused marketing campaign that aims to increase the overall sales of our new fuel efficient vehicle. The proposal seeks to offer a sound plan to increase vehicle sales through a combined sales and marketing approach.
The need for this more aggressive marketing campaign arose after management discovered that the overall cost per unit greatly exceeded expectations and would therefore require a much greater levels of sales success. To achieve these higher levels of sales success, we will more than likely be required to clearly define a unique niche consumer base. The objective of this proposal is to create a viable blueprint for designing a marketing strategy and then using it as the foundation for a successful marketing campaign that increases vehicle sales.

As we may hope to avoid future suits concerning gender and racial-related hiring practices and policies, I believe it would be a good idea to institute a program of training future managers. This would also solve some of the cultural diversity problems which have been noted in this division. Many other corporations have such a policy concerning educational advancement and I feel it would be to our advantage to institute such a policy company-wide.
Thank you for hearing me out on this crucial problem which I feel needs attention.

Utility Patents and Employee Contracts
Since the before the beginning of the industrial revolution, the United States Patent and Trademark Office has been recording and protecting the ideas and gadgets of inventors. But, what exactly is a patent and what laws govern the patent process? ho can file for a patent and what is the process for applying? hat benefit are received if a patent is in place? Does a patent cost money and who enforces the fact that a patent is in place? These and many more questions will be addressed throughout this research presentation.

Business Ethics
How important is an individual's privacy in the workplace? Is an individual's privacy in the workplace the most important consideration to be taken into account? hat constitutes privacy in a workplace environment? Do the goals and the mission of the organization supersede an individual's desire to protect his or her privacy? Is it ethical for an employer to collect and disperse personal information from employees without their knowledge? How does the philosophy of utilitarianism play into this issue? This paper delves into those questions and provides supporting information for the resolution of this issue.
After careful review of the textbook for this course, after reviewing additional scholarly resources and taking into consideration a utilitarian approach to this issue -- and after researching the Australian laws regarding workplace privacy -- this paper takes the position that an individual's privacy is indeed vitally important (and must by law be protected)…

Re: B-1 Rental Agency Follow-up
Date: June 15, 2012
Please be advised that B-1 Franchise Oversight Manager has been contacted pursuant to your instructions to resolve the Twin Cities Airport B-1 franchise issue involving their repeatedly furnishing vehicles with inoperable systems and otherwise in need of maintenance. The following points were emphasized in that correspondence:
The situation is serious and has recurred numerous times
The situation has already been brought to the attention of management without any appreciable response
B-1 and CCC have a long-standing business relationship and mutual interests in the way B-1 vehicles are represented to the public in this region
We expect B-1 to take immediate and appropriate action to rectify this situation
An operational audit is in order to identify the source of the problem…
According to the Dictionary, a lord is "a monarch, ruler, governor, [Milton] Master, supreme person [Shakespeare]; a tyrant, an oppressive ruler, [Hayward]; a husband, [Pope] One who is at the head of any business, an overseer [Turner]; a nobleman [Shakespeare]; a general name for a peer of England [King Charles]; a baron; an honorary title applied to officers, as lord chief justice, lord mayor, lord chief baron; a ludicrous title given by the vulgar to a hump-backed person, traced, however, to the Greek crooked (439). Johnson, not a lord, is a man who calls himself a humble scholar. He uses his posture supposed humility ironically before Chesterfield, as he does the term patron: "hen I had once addressed your Lordship in public, I had exhausted all the art of pleasing which a retired and uncourtly scholar can possess. I had done all that I could; and no man is well…

Letter to Congressman Udall
Business
Senator Mark Udall
Western Slope Office
400 Rood Ave. Suite
Grand Junction, Colorado 81501
Good day Senator Mark Udall,
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. The subject of this letter is the Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act. This act is currently up for review in the legislature. I write this letter to show my support for this act. It is a bill that I hope will be enacted as a law. Health care could not be more of a hot topic in the United States at this time. The state of the economy and the availability of jobs is just as much of an issue that is at the forefront of the American press. Passing the Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act would be of great help to the American people in a few ways.

How can we expect our children to learn how to think critically if we do not teach them about sex?
Cheers to The Dallas News for pointing out the woeful inconsistencies and shortcomings in Texan state education. The majority of Texas school districts "either teach an abstinence-only health curriculum or avoid talking about sex altogether" and the result? Texas has one of the highest rates of teen pregnancy in the nation. When evidence proves that our methods are not working, it is time to change them. Some teens are blessed with parents who make up for their state's lack of sex education programs. Unfortunately, many Texan teens remain ignorant at the behest of irresponsible parents. If withholding medical treatment for minors is against the law, then so too should withholding access to information about safe sex.
Finally, I would like to add that young people have a right to information:…

I am interested in purchasing your DiMAGE Xg digital camera. hile I have read a number of reviews on the subject, I find them highly technical and difficult to understand. In order to make my decision on the purchase of the item, I would like to ask you four questions.
One review that I have read notes that the camera is a 3.2 mega pixel imager (Steve's Digicam Online). hile I understand that a larger number of mega pixels means that the camera can take photos with better quality, I would like to know more about how the number of mega pixels translates to actual picture size. Specifically, will I be able to take photographs with the Minolta DiMAGE Xg that can be blown up to a 8x10 size? I like to display my personal photographs on the wall, so this is…

Business Critical Thinking
To whom it may concern:
'Logically speaking...' How often do we say this simple phrase? There is a presumption that logic is not only good, but that the human mind can easily calculate the pros and cons of most decisions. However, the human brain did not evolve to naturally gravitate to an emotion-free, Spock-like way of evaluating options. "hen people face an uncertain situation, they don't carefully evaluate the information or look up relevant statistics. Instead, their decisions depend on mental short cuts, which often lead them to make foolish decisions. The short cuts aren't a faster way of doing the math; they're a way of skipping the math altogether" (Lehrer 2011). The sooner we admit this, the better we can cope with the challenges with which life presents us; the sooner a business organization admits this, the better it can guard against irrationality, or at least…

Letter to My Daughter
Grade Course
Dear (Name),
Having your beautiful picture right in front of me reminds me of the day when you were born. Finally the wait of several months was over when I experienced the finest blessing of my life. You were so fragile that at first I was scared to hold you. But just a single glimpse made you the inseparable part of me. I still recall the day when you smiled for the first time; it was a moment when it felt as if you had the power to lighten the whole world. Well, I can go on writing pages and pages about your childhood; the times when you fell, the moments when you used to cry urging me to fulfill your demands and the days when you used to get home all excited for receiving special appreciation from your teachers. All these experiences are…
Letter Against Unionization
Dear Mr. Hines
Thank you for our recent discussion regarding the American Professionals Union's attempt to organize our nursing staff. The nurses have made their many grievances known and I have listened intently to their rationale about unionizing. With the widespread shortage of nurses, many hospitals have given way to unionization. This is not a new trend. It is a popular way for nurses to resolve challenges and negotiate salaries. The American Nurses Association first endorsed collective bargaining in the later 19040s and at the time, viewed it as the road to improving both wages and working conditions (Carrell & Heavrin, 2007). Today, nurses' attention has shifted from wages, benefits, and work conditions, to also include patient issues. ecent strikes in California, Minnesota and Pennsylvania have focused on nurse to patient ratios in particular, after extensive research revealed a direct correlation between minimum nurse to patient ratios…

Because cross-trained employees are more knowledgeable about the overall business processes of the organization, their conceptual understanding of the mission of their organization is enhanced by every incremental increase of their involvement and knowledge of its operations (obbins & Judge, 2009). Beyond that element of increased involvement, the fact that cross-trained workforces tend to improve the morale and organizational connectedness of individual employees also contributes directly to organizational benefits through the positive impact on individual performance. Finally, cross-trained workforces also collaborate better and exhibit increased interpersonal rapport with coworkers. According to generally accepted principles of organizational behavior, this element also improves individual work performance beyond what is capable of achieving without such interpersonal rapport among coworkers (ussell-Whalling, 2008).
Conclusions and ecommendations
The review of the available literature on the beneficial effects of cross-trained workforces on their organizations strongly suggests that, as a general rule, cross-training should be implemented in business…

Student accounts will be located behind a proxy server that is part of the university network. It is expected that the websites will be reasonably safe, but there is never a 100% guarantee. Therefore, it is highly suggested that students refrain from posting information that could endanger them and make them a target for phishers and theft.
Personal safety and security is the responsibility of the individual. Students must keep their passwords safe. Do not tell anyone your password. Although, you may think that you can trust someone, you never know. Students should also refrain from posting information such as their social security number, bank account, or credit cared information. They should not publish their personal address or phone number. It is believed that with a few common sense rules, the student's experience can be a safe and meaningful one. However, one must never become complacent because computer crime happens…

At this point, it seems advisable to consider incorporating the same technology in all vehicles insured by our organization. Doing so would allow incident and loss investigators to accurately asses the precise factors responsible for losses, to confirm and verify the information provided by the insured, and to more accurately establish the basis of allocating fault based on objective data that indicates exactly what factors are responsible for losses. Moreover, the real-time capabilities of the GPS technology systems that are currently available for these types of applications would also allow the continual monitoring of driver behavior for compliance with vehicular traffic laws as well as for the purpose of confirming other pertinent information upon which policy terms and pricing are based. In the event of an incident and a covered loss, the information provided by these systems is invaluable.
Adoption of the GPS-based technology systems for use in conjunction with…
Such disputes are always subject to issues of proof, but if the buyer can prove that the owner new his statements were false, and if those statements concerned a matter that is material to the sale, the buyer can either rescind the contract or recover damages measured by the cost of putting the car into the condition warranted by the seller.
Personal Ethical Perspective and Values in Relation to Consumer Choice
In my personal opinion, it is highly unethical to misrepresent even subjective matters that may not be covered by contract law. For example, the law will not question the transaction because a seller told a prospective buyer that the car ran wonderfully, even if it runs poorly beginning the day after the sale, because the conclusion about what is "wonderful" is subjective and based on personal opinion and characterization. However, the law leaves substantial room between what kinds of…

"Wal-Mart: But we do give them a 10% employee discount" reveals a highly quantitative standpoint, by pointing out the facts behind Wal-Mart's management of its human resource. The editor places an increased emphasis on revealing years, amounts, facts and figures and all these are intended to provide a clear image to the reader. Additionally, they are intended to preserve the objectivity of the authors in presenting the situation at the company.
Aside from the vast integration of facts and quantitative data, the author nevertheless presents the details of Wal-Mart's numerous ethical issues. For instance, the company asks the employees to work longer hours, which are unpaid; the employees will often be given tasks to complete right before the end of the shift, and will have to complete the job during unpaid overtime.
Then, the company is also blamed for discriminating against its employees. The more relevant examples in…

Wheeler could seek $1,000 in damages from Jennings because that is the amount of the difference between what he would have paid for the second car if he had purchased it at the time that he passed up the chance relying on Jennings' promise. bsent detrimental reliance of some sort, Wheeler cannot overcome the gratuitous promise/lack of consideration issue.

There was no contract between them because Wheeler never gave up anything in consideration for the Jennings promise. t most, the Jennings letter was only an offer that Wheeler could (and would have to) have accepted in the ordinary manner in which offers can be accepted in contract formation. Answer Version #2
There was no contract between them because Wheeler never gave up anything in consideration for the Jennings promise. At most, the Jennings letter was only an offer that Wheeler could (and would have to) have accepted in the ordinary manner in which offers can be accepted in contract formation. The fact that the offer was about a specific item is important too. Had Jennings written "I will sell you any 1955 Thunderbird Convertible for $13,500 before October 9th if I still have any of them in stock" Jennings could not have refused to honor that offer if Wheeler came in to accept it on September 29th. Even then, Jennings could still have retracted that offer anytime simply by notifying Wheeler that the offer was being retracted.
Wheeler might still have a chance to recover if he relied on the promise even though there was never any transfer of valuable consideration for it. If Wheeler looked at the letter again on September 14th and put a non-refundable deposit on a parking spot lease before going to the dealership the day after Jennings sold it, Wheeler could sue Jennings to recover his actual out-of-pocket expenses if he genuinely relied on the offer in the letter. The fact that Jennings could have simply notified Wheeler as soon as he sold the car but did not is also relevant to any reliance issues.
Today the outbound telephone marketing industry has given political campaigns the ability to reach out to a large group of targeted voters in a quick and quiet way, just below the radar. This notion went way beyond the small volunteer call centers that have existed for over forty years. It was essential for the technology to be in place and widely utilized. Political campaigns could not have put into production a complete industry of dissimilar companies, large and small, with many thousands of telephones in call centers. This was a revolution as one could target using any criteria from gender, age, vote propensity, income, level of education, to presence of children. One could shape the message even within a single calling agenda, so that they may be calling all women, but the script may be different for younger women in comparison to older women. And maybe most importantly, one can…

Business Expansion and Sustainability
Taking in consideration the hiring process situation at the firm, certain concerns should be addressed for attaining business growth as well as successfully running the firm.
Job equirements and its impact on organization
Certain number of things should be considered before determining the job description and its effect on the hiring process in an organization in this situation. First and foremost, the employer must decide the job description at hand. What does the individual's job consists of? What's the skills and qualification required? Then the most effective recruitment process to appeal to the competent candidates. Should it be in a newspaper ad? Ad's on the internet? Hiring from schools? It's imperative to look for competent candidates in multitude of places and from number of sources as well (ecruitment Strategies, n.d.).
Before taking the consequent step, the tasks at hand must be scrutinized and information pertaining the…

The initial exchange between aj and Sally illustrate the importance of sensitizing employees to the delicate nature of even benign social overtures, particularly in connection with coworkers of the opposite gender.
Whereas innocent social invitations are not necessarily inappropriate in the workplace, coworkers must be acutely aware of the dangers posed by these types of miscommunications and the use of words or gestures susceptible to more than one interpretation. On the other hand, that training would stress that repeated unwanted social overtures, (even where the actual content of the communications themselves are not inherently offensive), can be considered sexual harassment under certain circumstances. With respect to the situation between aj and Sally, even an otherwise innocent social invitation could constitute sexual harassment where it takes place in the context of multiple previous similar requests by the same individual.

While aj was not…
Resources, I would immediately schedule sexual harassment training for all employees in addition to a similar training program with regard to appropriate avenues for initiating complaints against coworkers.
One of the most important aspects of that training would be awareness of potential areas for misunderstandings in words and gestures that could be interpreted in a manner that is unintended by the speaker or actor. Another crucial area that I would include in this training would be the absolute prohibition about ever resorting to "self- help" such as the physically violent response initiated by Sally upon her taking offense (whether rightly or wrongly) to the Raj's hand gesture.
Other aspects of that training would include awareness of personal sensitivities relating to cultural differences as well as those that are potentially attributable to gender differences. The initial exchange between Raj and Sally illustrate the importance of sensitizing employees to the delicate nature of even benign social overtures, particularly in connection with coworkers of the opposite gender.
Whereas innocent social invitations are not necessarily inappropriate in the workplace, coworkers must be acutely aware of the dangers posed by these types of miscommunications and the use of words or gestures susceptible to more than one interpretation. A favorite target for conspiracists today as well as in the past, a group of European intellectuals created the Order of the Illuminati in May 1776, in Bavaria, Germany, under the leadership of Adam Weishaupt (Atkins, 2002). In this regard, Stewart (2002) reports that, "The 'great' conspiracy organized in the last half of the eighteenth century through the efforts of a number of secret societies that were striving for a 'new order' of civilization to be governed by a small group of 'all-powerful rulers.' The most important of these societies, and the one to which all subsequent conspiracies could be traced, is the Illuminati founded in Bavaria on May 1, 1776 by Adam Weishaupt" (p. 424). According to Atkins, it was Weishaupt's fundamental and overriding goal to form a secret organization of elite members of Europe's leading citizens who could then strive to achieve the Enlightenment version of revolutionary social…

Impact of Email to Business Communication
Implications of Emails as Business Communication Tools
Email is an important form of communication in today's organization that is increasingly seeing a geographical dispersal of the workforce. To communication tool has replaced traditional business letters and memos in preference for email memos. The research carried out a review of literature on email and business communication and found the tool is used in 100% of businesses today. However, despite the wide acceptance, the tool lacks in social and visual cues which lender the messages toneless. The lack of tone and physical gestures leads to misinterpretation, ill will, disconnectedness, loss of intellectual capital and integrity for the business. The research finds that the informal history of emails, heterogeneity among users, technological limitations in social-emotions, and lack of…

I then acknowledged that I had already been notified of the status of my application and that the negative outcome was largely my own doing. I didn't elaborate on the offensive behavior I displayed because I thought it would lead to the letter becoming more personal than business like. Finally, I closed the letter by wishing the recipient the best. Overall, I wanted the letter to sound uncontrived and sincere.
As I mentioned, it was my father who helped me compose the letter, so he proofread it as well. Being a neophyte in the business letter-writing arena then, I had concerns about grammar and sentence construction. I had full confidence in my father's ability to proofread because he was a former English professor.

Job-Application Letter
There are several positive aspects of the letter reviewed within this assignment and which will be evaluated herein. It is obvious from even a cursory read of this document that the author is very confident and fairly talented. However, there is a thin line between confidence and overstepping one's boundaries, and there are a few places in the letter in which the author's approach could stand some restructuring and re-phrasing to emphasize a greater degree of professionalism. By adhering to a more formal format for this cover letter, it is not improbable that the author could obtain the position that he desires.
Still, the basic structure of the letter itself is commendable. The fact that the author has written this on letterhead with his contact information at the top is beneficial, and he follows the general structure for a business letter nicely, including leaving a space between the…
In turn, this complexity is driven by an increasing understanding of sustainability, going "green," and bringing ethical and moral philosophy into the business community. Besides increasing coffee outlets globally, Starbucks must count on corporate social responsibility as a key maxim of their production and marketing efforts. The company's "Global esponsibility strategy and commitments…. And the communities [they] do business with, as well as [their] focus of being an employer of choice, are also key compliments to [their] business strategies" (Schultz). PepsiCo echoes this in understanding that the market is now all people on earth, every country, every demographic. Pepsi confirms this commitment to CS noting, "At PepsiCo, our actions -- the actions of all our associates -- are governed by our Worldwide Code of Conduct. This Code is clearly aligned with our stated values -- a commitment to sustained growth, through empowered people, operating with responsibility" (Nooyi).

The differences in culture with the American culture will meant the American staff that may go to help open the branches in China will have to take quite some time to learn the culture and the ways of the people there.
The other difficulty will be the language barrier that may exists between the Americans and the Chinese. It may even call for a translator in the initial days as transactions between the American sales people and the Chinese customers, or interaction between the staff themselves may be a big challenge.
On the technical side, the Wal-Mart may have it hard when it comes to acquainting themselves with the market trends and the competition from the older players who are already in operation in China. It will take a lot of research work to be able to know the finer details of the market trends and the ways through which…

Ironically, the single most important thing a university could do might be to suspend all forms of grading by the traditional test methods. Even without cheating, the focus on grades only encourages studying to perform on test instead of learning for the sake of learning. It might not be practical for large classes, but one-on-one oral exams between students and professors or TAs might be more difficult to cheat on and provide more accurate indications of what students have actually learned than traditional testing methods. If the university cannot suspend traditional grading and testing, the single most important thing might be to provide a mandatory ethics course to freshman in conjunction with employing a very strict one-strike policy for cheating.

Annual eport
What differences, if any, do you perceive in the approach each organization presents in its annual performance? Is information and data presented clearly so that the reader can make clear inferences about how the organization performed?
I believe the two organizations, Bank of America, and JP Morgan format their annual reports to reflect the culture of the business. Bank of America, due primarily to the negative sentiments prevailing in the marketplace, structures their annual report to dispel myths regarding company performance. The tone of the report isn't overly optimistic nor is it overly pessimistic. The report reports the facts as they stand at that point in time. Conversely, JP Morgan's report is much more candid, truthful and optimistic, reflecting the company's outstanding performance. The report is filled with success stories, future growth prospects and failures along the way. JP Morgan, presents the facts clearly and in a concise…

letter in a more introductory fashion, stating that I've been visiting the facility and found some problems that need attention. Then I would request that the manager implement the requested changes. I would also change the reference to ethnic minorities, and persons who grew up in poverty and in single-parent homes. It is a valid statement, but it sounds very derogatory. Basic cleanliness does not have to be taught in a class. Instead, the requirements for joining the staff can be drafted in a written document to serve as a guide for cleanliness. Perhaps a class in basic cleanliness might be seen as somewhat insulting. There are better ways to handle such an issue.
I do believe that the tone is adequate. It's very formal, straightforward and polite. The focus on politeness has been maintained throughout the exchanges with the manager, and the draft of the letter is no exception.…
I am pleased to recommend Mark for employment. As co-manager of Mark at BAM, I had the great pleasure of having him as an intern. He has served as our go-to Head of Risk Management (as well as quantitative researcher) at BAM Asset Management—an independent investment management company in charge of € 1.2bn AUM that offers investment solutions to institutional investors. As Head of Risk Management, Mark has been tasked with focusing his group on capital preservation and the generation of risk-adjusted returns on a sustainable basis. In my estimation, as an intern at BAM, Mark has performed considerably well. I could not have asked for a better intern and worker than Mark.
Mark is very well-qualified to succeed in this field of finance. Harvard educated, he has studied substantially on various topics—such as Theory of Probability, Statistics for Applications, Stochastic Calculus, Econometrics, Math Topics for Finance, and Analysis. At…
The objectives of this project will result in a reduced security risk due to incoming spam and junk email messages. Achievement of the objective will be difficult to measure because it represent something that will not happen if the project is successful. A reduction in threats due to the actions or inactions of employees will result in achievement of these objectives. An employee questionnaire or survey would be useful in determining if the policies result in a greater awareness and adherence to prescribed policies regarding how to treat spam in the company. Increased awareness and willingness to take actions to increase security, as measured by a survey conducted some time after the policies are in place will provide insight into the success or failure of the prescribed measures.
Evaluation
There are several contributing factors that will affect the outcome of the project and the ability to achieve the intended objectives…
