¶ … Statistics have numerical data that reveals information that a person can conclude on a given social phenomenon. The information is usually not sufficient to understand the whole concept behind the research. Hence, additional information is required in order to know the full aim and target results of the study (Babbie, 2010). What information do we miss when we look only at statistical data?

Statistical data cannot provide the mindset of the researcher. While a person is organizing a research, it is critical to understand the aim and objective of the research. These two aspects drive the research to the end. However, by receiving numerical or statistical data a person cannot know the intentions of the researcher to have a full picture of the study (Babbie, 2010).

A summary report on Diabetes

Diabetes is marked as one of the leading terminal disease in the U.S. The report compiled by Center for disease control and prevention concerns data on diabetic cases in the United States. The rate at which diabetic cases have been increasing is alarming. According to the statistics, Diabetes has been on the increase since 1980. The statistics indicate that diabetic cases have tripled from the year 1980 to 2010. In 1980, people diagnosed of diabetes were about 5.6 million Americans. By the year 2010, diabetic cases have risen to 20 million people in the United States. Such data is critical while devising means of prevention and reducing the occurrences of such diseases (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2011).

Then, search the topic of any one of your classmates and see if you come up with the same summary.

According to the graph shown, the number of diagnosed cases has been increasing twice every year. These statistics point out that there is urgent need to inform people on how to give attention to such diseases. It can be concluded that majority of Americans do not know how to develop better health standards to improve their own health status. In addition, people in the 1980s highly depended on non-processed foods, which are more healthier compared to the food types in the market today.
What type of information we can learn from these statistics and what information we miss when we look only at statistical data.

This statistics give the knowledge of the demand for urgent medical attention that people require to overcome the rising cases of diabetes in America.

However, the statistics do not explain the causes of the problem. In addition, the statistics do not mention whether the cases highlighted are all old cases recurring or include new cases. We cannot confirm if the affected individuals are old or young people.

Quantitative Data at the Movies

How the critics' ratings are aggregated into a single score and what this score means.

The metascore is a score that is given to every film in the website. In order to obtain this score, four highly ranked critics are selected and given marks according to the reviews given. These marks obtained are then put to average as a summary of the opinions. The result is referred to as the metascore. The metascore points out the stature and quality of the film.

Statistics and Their Importance to Research Investigation. Although all research activities do not require the use of statistical data analysis when an investigator wants to report upon the differences, effects and/or relationships between and amongst groups or phenomena (i.e. variables) there must a concerted effort to measure the phenomenon with as much precision and accuracy as possible (Mendenhall & Ramey, 1973). This is, of course, accomplished through the use of

Ethics in Statistics Ethical Issues in Business Statistics Statistical knowledge has been under gradual growth since the beginning of 20th century. This growth has subsequently advanced into broad dimensions of data handling and analysis, resulting into a fully-fledged scientific discipline. Statistics is a science that serves within the framework of construction, and theoretical mathematical applications in order to analyze a set of numerical data hence obtaining credible knowledge (Kemptborne, 1979). Important measures in data summarization include measures of central tendency (i.e. "averages" or the mean, median, and/or mode) and measures of dispersion or variability -- the range of the data and the standard deviation of the points within the data set (Shaughnessy et al. 2006). These statistical staring points can be used to derive a wealth of information form the data, including correlations to other related studies/data sets, reliability

C. Evaluation question(s) and aims. The primary question that will be addressed is to identify whether HCBS program is able to provide service to the target population. The evaluation questions will also be directed to the cost effectiveness of the program. The following evaluation questions are identified: 1. Is the program meet the budget requirements of the 1915 (b)? 2. Has the program generates cost saving? 3. Has the program has been able to

Conselling Master Questionnaire Describe the Boolean Approach (Hauser, 2009 p. 18) In order to use counseling databases to search for information, it is important to develop appropriate search practices. The terms one types when searching will most likely provide the results owing to their meaning. Therefore, it is up to an individual to come up with a search strategy and learn the tips of using counseling databases. The tips will assist an
