Many times people can't remember anything before age 4. This is true for most, but it's always nice to try to remember. There's information available that states babies up until 3 months can only see in black and white and need to see black and white in order to develop their brains more. I believe retrieving as much detail as possible from your early childhood is a great way to improve your own memory as well as connect events in your life. A lot of things you do now were shaped by what you did when you were little. For instance, your inquisitive nature back then, how you wanted to see through the hole and your sadness. Perhaps understanding why you cried so much before going to kindergarten could explain some of the sadness you may have now.

The book, Speak, helps readers build a sort of road map of the character's life through these reconstructed memories. To associate these memories with certain actions and possible connections...

An instance for me in early childhood was my first time riding a bicycle. I was eight at the time.
I was eight years old and I was with my father. He had bought me this shiny, new bike with training wheels on it and told me to get on so I could learn to ride it. I declined and told him I would rather play with my little cars but he insisted I get on. I protested a little but then I realized how bored I'd be if I just stayed there playing with my toys. I finally relented and got on. It was wobbly and I felt as though the ground under me was shaking. To me it felt like a mini earthquake, when in reality, it was just me feeling an imbalance on the bicycle.

Seeing how the reassurance from my father reassured me in life was productive. I wish you could have done that in relation to the book. I wanted to see more of how Nabokov was able to connect memory with present experience. That would have allowed me to understand your viewpoint more.

Nabokov: Ch. 4 "My English Education": In the fourth chapter of Nabokov's book, he discusses his upbringing and the English governess who took care of him when he was a small child. The particular qualities of Britain seemed to all have been within this one governess and it instilled in Nabokov and his other family members a form of Anglophilia. They came to appreciate other British things either because she introduced it

Humbert In Lolita, Vladimir Nabokov creates the character of a clear anti-hero in Humbert, a man who has is guilty of pedophilia, possibly rape and murder. The bulk of the book, however, is devoted to Humbert's narration of his affair with his stepdaughter, a "nymphet" named Dolores Haze or, in Humbert's mind, Lolita. For Humbert, the various forms of love he feels for the young girl are inextricably linked with his

That must be obvious by now." How ironic it is that the director and the lawyer talk so condenscendingly to Cincinnatus, in the same manner that Christ is talked to by the Pharasees and the Saducees. The entire first part of the story lends an air of similarity to the New Testament that is undeniable. Using it as a foreground for the remainder of the story enhanced the overall veracity of such

Theology Pascal's projected apologia for Christian belief, for which the text of the Pensees offers some glimpse, would ultimately have reflected his sincere conversion (of sorts) to the gloomy Jansenist theology which hovers over his works generally. Ultimately rejected by the Roman Catholic church as heretical, Jansenism emphasized the fallen and corrupt nature of man in an Augustianian way, while at the same time suggesting that only God's grace can permit
