Life at Lincoln Academy

My first days here seem completely different from the ones I've been used to at home. I'm not sure if it's because of the people here or if it's because of the fact that I acknowledged the fact that I have to integrate in this new environment. Everything seems like a challenge and lectures are helping me enjoy my time here even more. In the beginning things seemed strange, if not hostile. The fact that I had left my comfort zone contributed to this feeling and influenced me to attempt to create links between this new environment and the one that I had been used to.

My nature as a person enthusiastic about seeing new places and people encouraged me to try to get involved as much as possible and to find individuals and ideas that were similar to mine or that made me want to learn more. I know that I have to focus on my studies, but the fact that I came across so many concepts that seem interesting makes it possible for me to understand that I have to accumulate as much knowledge as possible. This knowledge can come both as a consequence of curricular and non-curricular activities, as taking information from a teacher or from a student introducing educational ideas is extremely important.

As time passes I've noticed I become more used to daily events at the Academy. Some of these have almost become routine, as it feels natural to attend classes and to interact with topics that I previously had a limited understanding of. In a way I am intrigued with the way that I've developed in a relatively short time period. I now feel more in control of my actions and I have the impression I have a clearer goal in front of me. It almost seems that the experiences I've had here have gradually shaped my way of thinking.
