Knowing about the safe sleeping positions for babies is vital information in preventing the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) 1. The strategies implemented to avoid SIDS were informative because they indicate a push for improvements in areas that might have been overlooked. I did not know how big INOVA was, and I found that to be quite valuable information. As the information is being disseminated, it would also be vital that the bad sleeping positions be discussed and demonstrated. While we may focus more on safe sleeping positions, we should not fail to mention why the bad positions are wrong and the effects they can have on the child.
