An open system would also help facilitate this process as these changes will need to be discussed, implemented and altered throughout the entire organization. This will subsequently involve a fundamental transformation of the roles and responsibilities of health care practitioners as they enter the profession. As the health care landscape continues to change, so too must the health care practitioners of the future. A dedication to continual learning is therefore needed to help diminish the influence of antiquated and obsolete knowledge regarding the profession. An open system would help facilitate this approach.
