Nightingale Model Describe - choose something you learned from chapter 1-5- "What did I do, read, see, hear?

One concept that will be instrumental in my development is the nightingale model. This model provides insights into proper service to both clients and patients. Both of which will be needing in a changing health care landscape. Aspects such as the Affordable Care Act have provided expanding coverage to millions of Americans nationwide. As such, the need to provide individualized, premium service will be become paramount. Three aspects that I read about, that I believe, will be essential are:

Environment of patients

Need for keen observation

Focus on the whole patient rather than the disease

Reading these three concepts in particular provided insights into the supervision of nurses and the overall profession as it relates to a changing healthcare dynamic. The final concept of focusing on the patient rather than the disease is vital in regards to proper treatment and diagnosis. Reading about this concept within the context of the Nightingale Model, I believe, was very beneficial to me.

Learning new concepts and their subsequent applications is paramount to my personal development. As such, the Nightingale Model provided further insights by which I can properly apply to the field. In addition, surprisingly, many of these concepts expand outside the physical realm of nursing. Aspects such as observation are critical in other fields outside of nursing.
I therefore believe that the proactive nature, in which I exhibit in regards to learning, reinforces my overall interest within the nursing professional. This also signifies that, I am committed to learning new concepts, no matter how esoteric they may seem on the surface. Reading, particularly within the medical field often has compounding affect on the individual. In other words, knowledge builds on itself and "compounds." This activity proved that I have an interest in the medical field, and that through the use of compounded knowledge, I can apply is many facets of my life.
