PROFESSIONAL ROLE DEVELOPMENT
Discussion: Case Studies - Professional Role Development
The demand for advanced practice nurses is on the rise owing to changes that are being experienced in the field of nursing. Essentially, accommodating the said changes requires nurses who have certain skills and competencies. Using advanced practice nurses in nursing practice is beneficial given that it helps in improving patient outcomes. Advanced practice nurses perform diverse roles in the clinical realm. The advanced practice role that I selected is a nurse practitioner. Upon completion of the nursing practitioner program, the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties - NONPF (2012) suggests that nurse practitioner graduates must possess nine core competencies. In this text, I will discuss four major core competencies. First, a nurse practitioner graduate should have competencies in scientific foundation. In this competency, the NP should be able to develop new approaches in practice based on practice knowledge, theory, and integration of research. In addition, the NP should be able to translate knowledge and research so as to improve practice outcomes (NONPF, 2012). Further the said graduate should be able to integrate knowledge from sciences and humanities in nursing practice. Moreover, the nurse practitioner should be able to critically analyze evidence and data so as to improve the nursing practice.
The second competency of the nurse practitioner is the leadership competency. Upon completion of NP program, the graduate should be able to assume advanced leadership roles so as to initiate change. Change could be initiated through development or implementation of innovations that incorporate change (NONPF, 2012). The said leadership should demonstrate reflective thinking and
There are different project management strategies that I intend to learn as a nurse leader so as to facilitate my nursing practice in DNP doctoral project. For instance, I intend to learn on how qualitative techniques can be applied in determining the protocols for intervention. According to Rew et al (2020), qualitative techniques which are inclusive of root cause analysis and constrain analysis prove to be more effective in this phase. Essentially, using a fishbone diagram which is a root analysis tool would help determine the main cause and thus warrant that more investigation be carried out. There would also be need for a technique such as the spider web diagram which, according to Rew et al (2020), happens to be an easy and quick method of writing down ideas and facts about the selected sample. During the budgeting process, the bottom-up technique would help facilitate…

For this reason, it is critical to ascertain the causes of word reading difficulties in order to identify these problems and provide appropriate instruction as early as possible. (Allor, 2002, p. 47) Spear-Swerling & Sternberg note that the fundamental reason that children need to be screened for difficulties in pre-reading skills is that once the child is supposed to, by grade level be able to perform certain tasks it may
Opportunities . Indian elevator market growth is very promising in the 1995 timeframe, which is when this case study takes place. Treatment Plan: The treatment plan should include medication for high blood pressure and diabetes. Indeed, according to some evidence, the long term usage of diuretic antihypertensives to reduce the presence of excess salts in the body can help to lower blood pressure. (Klatt, 1) Given that the subject of this discussion also suffers from an elevated risk of myocardial infarction, the danger of cardiac arrest or general heart failure is of greater concern than the presence of

curriculum committee proceed with the work yet to be done?
