As a leader, how can you manage your time effectively with your team?
As a leader the most effective method to manage time with team is to first communicate with the team on a consistent basis. Here, through constant communication the team is much more likely to communicate information that is relevant to the leader. In addition, proper process management tools are also essential in managing time directly. Tools such as Slack, Asana, or Microsoft Team each help to provide better process management abilities for leaders to use on day to day basis (Claessens, 2005).
And why it that important?
It is important for leaders to manage time so that they can avoid burnout. This is particular important during this COVID-19 environment as leaders are now much more stressed with their leadership responsibilities. Here, they must manage a much more remote team while often accomplishing tasks that similar in nature to what the team was performing prior to the pandemic. They also must attend to client demands all while working remote. Likewise effective communication allows leadership to better determine the best use for employee time and capital at any given moment (Greif, 2008).
What are some examples of projects you can implement to manage time with your team?
Projects that you can implement to manage time on your team are often related to specific process, procedures and reporting. Personally, I work in the real estate sales industry. It is important to leverage and monitor client contacts throughout the team. Here, properly identifying individual prospects allows the team to better communicate who is likely to purchase or sale a home during a given period. Likewise, in helps individuals on the team to better determine what stage of the process the individual is in. This ultimately allows the team to better service the client through each stage of their home buying or home selling process.
