Asthma has emerged as one of the most common health problems and chronic diseases that affect children worldwide. Healthcare practitioners have become concerned with the increased prevalence of asthma among children. This study focuses on examining the role of vitamin D in prevention and/or control of asthma among children. The evaluation is conducted on the premise that vitamin D has been positively linked with enhanced control of asthma and decreased exacerbations of the condition. The study seeks to fill gaps in knowledge regarding the role of vitamin D in asthma, which remains relatively unclear. The discussion also demonstrates the clinical implications relating to the use of vitamin D in treatment of asthma. Background and Significance

Asthma is regarded as one of the most common diseases and long-term health conditions that affect children. This condition is basically defined as a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways involving several cells and cellular elements (Yadav & Mittal, 2014). The prevalence of asthma among children has increased significantly across the globe in the past few years. The increase in the prevalence of this condition among children has in turn generated a growing burden of the condition with regards to mortality, morbidity, and reduced quality of life. Actually, healthcare professionals have considered...

In this regard, vitamin D is considered as one of the most suitable interventions towards addressing asthma among children. Vitamin D helps in increasing calcium absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, which in turn controls neuromuscular function and bone health (Somashekar, Privthi & Godwa, 2014; Tachimoto et al., 2016). However, recent studies have demonstrated that the role of vitamin D in asthma remains unclear. This study is significant towards determining the effect of using vitamin D in asthmatic children, which helps in establishing its role in the condition. Through this process, the study will help fill gaps in knowledge regarding the role of vitamin D in preventing and/or treating asthma, especially among children.
Proposed Implementation

The proposed implementation for addressing the problem of asthma among children based on existing studies on this issue is increasing vitamin D supplementation. Increasing vitamin D is a crucial aspect for implementation because the link between asthma and vitamin has been established in existing literature. Therefore, the diagnosis and treatment of asthmatic children should involve increasing vitamin D supplements. Healthcare practitioners should include vitamin D supplements…

This would be considered primary sources of information. An advantage to this approach would be the autonomy. This autonomy comes with responsibilities and a solid data collection method requires strict adherence to scientific principles that demonstrate cautious and precise research beyond reproach. A combination of both methods is preferable in this case. Using both empirical evidence coupled with my personal research would help explain this disease from my personal perspective

Introduction BPD or bronchopulmonary dysplasia represents a chronic ailment of the lungs, largely occurring among premature babies requiring oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation for treating severe respiratory distress. It may also develop among immature babies displaying symptoms of early lung-related illness or babies born at their term but requiring rigorous ventilator therapy to treat serious lung ailments. In the last four decades, prenatal steroid administration, surfactant therapy, better nutrition, novel ventilator
