What makes this paper effective

  • The paper maintains a clear, logical progression from brand identity to strategic planning to implementation and communication, making it easy for readers to follow the business reasoning.
  • It grounds abstract leadership concepts — transformational and servant leadership — in the concrete context of a product launch, showing practical application rather than theoretical description alone.
  • The use of real-world reference points, such as Steve Jobs and Elon Musk, adds relatable credibility to strategic claims without overstating them.

Key academic technique demonstrated

The paper demonstrates applied citation practice, integrating peer-reviewed sources to support leadership and communication claims (e.g., Buch et al., 2016; Hamdani, 2018). This technique — anchoring business strategy recommendations in academic literature — is a hallmark of undergraduate business and management writing, lending authority to what could otherwise read as opinion.

Structure breakdown

The paper is organized into five functional sections: brand foundation (mission and vision), campaign strategy, implementation roles, leadership-based stakeholder communication, and communication channel selection. Each section builds on the last, moving from the "what" of the brand to the "how" of bringing it to market. The conclusion-oriented final section ties channel strategy back to the overarching goal of securing buy-in from both internal and external stakeholders.

Mission, Vision, and Brand Identity

The mission of Money Bag Apparel is best captured in the company's tagline: "Clothing You Like Royalty." The idea is to make every customer feel like a million dollars when wearing Money Bag Apparel — without having to spend a million dollars.

The vision of the company is to make others smile while wearing affordable yet high-quality clothing. Money Bag Apparel aims to be the premier clothing line for people who understand the importance of looking their finest. At the same time, customers need to be able to buy clothing without spending beyond their means. Designer brands can push consumers deep into debt. Money Bag Apparel's vision is for everyone to feel great, look great, and not have to spend a great deal of money to do so.

The 'Tell Your Story' Launch Strategy

The strategy for this new product launch is called "Tell Your Story," and it is built around people sharing personal accounts of how their clothing choices changed their lives. This product launch sets a narrative that clothing genuinely makes a difference. It focuses on the idea that everyone deserves the chance to look sharp and feel sharp — so that they can be taken seriously in a world full of fierce competition.

Just as Steve Jobs used personal stories about how the latest technology changed people's lives — creating a cult following around Apple products — the "Tell Your Story" strategy is a spin on the "Tell Your Truth" campaign that many people are aligning with today. This launch, however, focuses on what it means to dress well and to be appreciated for who one is. It emphasizes how a person's exterior can be a reflection of their interior, thanks to the opportunity that Money Bag Apparel provides.

The strategy's central theme is Narrative. The slogan is: "You Are What You Wear." The campaign will open with a sequence of images on a scroll: a man in a soldier's uniform from World War II; a professor in academic dress from the 1960s; a conductor in a fine coat at the head of a symphony; a worker in overalls; a basketball coach on the sideline. At the end of this sequence, the slogan appears, underscoring how everyone must show up wearing something that defines their role to others.

The Narrative theme will illustrate how everyone has a story to tell about why they wear what they wear — from punks to clubbers, professionals to artists, celebrities to everyday people. They all have a sense of style. The strategy will include voices from ordinary people explaining why they dress the way they do, what it says about them, and how it helps them define themselves.

Key Players in Strategy Implementation

The people required for successful strategy implementation include the marketing team, sales representatives, customer surveyors, social media influencers, and product design and development teams. All must work together — first and foremost to understand what the customer wants and needs, and then to relay that knowledge to design and development so the right products and services can be brought to market.

Marketing must work closely with social media influencers, who will be on the front lines modeling the clothing and demonstrating to their followers how strong the products are. The more that consumers can see the brand on real people, the more impressed they will be. For this reason, social media influencers will play a major role in spreading word about the product launch.

Customer surveyors are equally important, as they are tasked with gauging customer satisfaction and determining what customers need and want. They must formulate questions that yield actionable answers, and they must communicate their findings to both marketing and design and development so that the right products and services are ready for launch. Marketing, in turn, has to know how to bring those products to market — who the target audience is and why they are interested in the product. Customer surveyors will be positioned to supply that information (Oke, Ogunsemi & Adeyelu, 2018).

Sales representatives will be responsible for directing the movement of product: how they approach customers, what the incentives are, and how they get people into the store to see the product firsthand. For online sales, they will be active on social media driving clicks. Management and team leaders must remain in the loop, as they will be responsible for monitoring and measuring performance. Key performance indicators must be identified in advance so they can be tracked, and data must be collected daily and weekly to allow for timely adjustments.
