It is the responsibility of students to demand this type of diversity if it does not already exist, as well. Students have the right to expect the best educational experience they can imagine at their institutions, and institutions have the responsibility to continually upgrade their delivery and content to meet the needs of a changing student body. Diversity brings greater awareness and understanding, and it brings new opportunities to learn from a more diverse population. An institution that remains stagnant when it comes to diversity will find itself behind the times and losing enrollment to more progressive schools, and so, it is the responsibility of the institution to keep current and foster diversity. Diversity is the wave of the future, and an institution has to prepare its students for the future, so ignoring diversity robs students of some of the skills they will need to survive and thrive in the culture and careers. Thus, if they do not learn diversity now, they may not be able to cope with it in the future, and the institution that ignores that is really ignoring the needs of their students.
Fostering diversity is an important element of distance and traditional education, because it recognizes that no two students are the same and that should be celebrated, rather than ignored. The world is made up of a diverse population, college campuses are more diverse, adult education is setting the stage for modeling new educational techniques and delivery, and they should be on the forefront of fostering diversity.

Perhaps the clearest and most direct way to make the reading and general learning experience more personally relevant, however, is to include an analysis of text-to-self-connections in reading lesson plans and tasks. Not only does this lead explicitly to every individual developing their own context for reading a given text, making them consciously aware of the different perspectives that exist in literature and in the wider world, but a lack

Other persons view smoking in different moral lights, and the notion of the example set by health care professionals is a vital topic in this field. In short, healthcare employees must not condone smoking through their own negative behaviors, observed by patients who are dealing with the health consequences of a lifetime habit -- but the organization must provide support for the workers to stop smoking and not simply

Diversity California Community Colleges serve an extremely diverse population; according to the report entitled "Achieving the Diversity Commitment" by the California Community College Trustees (CCCT), statistics show that there is no majority ethnic group in the state. Therefore, the CCCT is responsible for promoting and maintaining policies, pledges, and programs that will foster diversity and make California Community Colleges accessible and acceptable for all persons. As it stands now, African-Americans, Hispanics,

Diversity Public school teachers are disproportionately white, middle-class females, in spite of the student body becoming increasingly diverse across the nation. As many as ninety percent of grade school teachers are white, but as many as thirty percent of students are persons of color, according to an article by Christine I. Bennett entitled "Enhancing Ethnic Diversity at a Big Ten University Through Project TEAM." The under-representation of teachers from various ethnic

While popularly associated with the advent of web-based technologies, DE is not a new phenomenon (Ragusa et al. 2009, 679)." The author asserts that during the nineteenth century many universities had correspondence programs. These programs remained popular for many years because they were different from more conventional learning environments. At the current time, distance education is driven by the pace of technological change and such changes are occurring globally
