Determination is one key trait that all successful small business owners share. Having the drive to succeed is essential when starting a business. In addition, successful small business owners are often risk-takers. They are willing to take chances and experiment with new ideas, even if there is a chance of failure. Finally, successful small business owners have excellent people skills. They know how to build relationships and cultivate partnerships. Of these three defining attributes, the one I think to be the most important for a small business owner to possess so as to become successful is determination. Taking risks is easy, and cultivating partnerships can be donebut persevering through the most difficult times is really what separates the successes from the failures. The entrepreneur who is determined to return to the grind stone, nose down, time and time again has a better chance to succeed than the entrepreneur who lacks determination (Kim et al., 2015).

They must ensure that their businesses are operated ethically and in compliance with the law. Additionally, they must create an environment that is conducive to innovation and creativity.
