They may be right - but what if they are wrong and civilization does nothing to combat global warming and the other issues facing the Earth? In conclusion, it seems that many of the people who are so convinced the Earth will survive on its own are ignoring many of the facts. The Earth's survival has depended on regeneration and re-growth in the past, and many species have been eliminated in global events of the past (think of the dinosaurs). During these historic events, man was a blip on the global landscape, or did not exist at all. Today, billions of humans populate the planet and pollute it in a wide variety of ways. The Earth has been able to survive natural events in the past because it was naturally able to regenerate. Today, man has altered the environment so much; there are questions as to the ability of the Earth to survive. Many are optimistic about...

On the other hand, many are deeply alarmed about the growing evidence that indicates man's influence may have created a tipping point, and the Earth, now overrun by man and man's problems, will not be able to stand the stress. That seems a logical explanation for the many events occurring on Earth today, and events facing the planet in the future.

Environment and Social Equality The modern world and all of its technological progress has led to a situation in which many individuals become detached from its reliance on the knowledge of natural systems to provide for themselves and their families. Yet they are entirely dependent on the natural systems that provide things such as food, water, and clean air; it's just that they are rather unaware of how these systems are

The significance of this finding is primarily that the recorded diversity level of the species studied corresponds directly to all the other elements of the complex ecosystem processes essential to the planet's atmosphere and to the continued replenishment of the planet's surface. Danovaro also points out that the direct relationship between the number of supported species and the efficiency of ecosystem processes revealed in his findings demonstrate that the deep-sea

Environment from a Christian Perspective Using Toulmin's Argument Model, this paper will explore the way in which Christians should act in response to the environmental challenges facing the planet. There are many reasons that all citizens should be paying attention to the problems that the earth is facing, due to climate change and pollution. And Christians, while they have spiritual values that differ from Muslims, Buddhists and other faiths, are citizens

An important influence on Renaissance architecture was the Dome of the Rock, famous for its spatial harmony, balance and overall perfection. . . . The Dome of the Rock is basically a Byzantine building [with] classical columns, topped by arches in alternating black and white marble, the dome, and the gold and semi-precious mosaics that decorate the walls all speak of Byzantine heritage" (p. 119). The Costa Rican courts ruled in favor of AIDA's actions on the grounds that the aquaculture project would drastically harm the marine environment and undermine the nation's constitutional guarantees of a healthy environment ("Toward). Some of the root problems that confront over fishing and environmental damage to marine ecosystems include lack of regulatory mechanisms and lack of general knowledge about the environmental impacts of commercial fisheries. AIDA has demonstrated some
