However, as I will show below, I believe that tone is actually one of the most important communication skills that a leader can have. I will say more on that in a bit, but first I will discuss the typical communication skills that most scholars agree are vital to effective communication.

Listening skills are also critical for leaders as they must listen actively to their followers, understand their concerns, and provide appropriate feedback.

Feedback is the final communication skill that leaders must possess. They must be able to provide constructive feedback to their followers, both positive and negative, to help them grow and improve their skills.
