Project Management Discussion Post Project

Peer Discussion

Hello,

I really enjoyed reading your assessment of project management and the elements needed for success. I agree with many of your assertations with your post. One of the areas that I need to improve on is how to properly delegate work during a group activity. I often feel that group members may procrastinate and wait until the last minute to complete their portion of the project. As a result, this behavior puts the entire group at risk. I much rather complete the entire assignment myself to be assured that a good grade will be received. With project management, there is an element of trust that must be given in order for the entire group to be successful

Peer Discussion 2

Hello,

I was very interested in reading your experience as a contracting officer for the government. From your post, it appears that the government does have strong project management policies in place. This is contrary to popular belief where there is a perception that the government is very bloating and cumbersome to operate efficiently. I am also really thankful, that your job helps to save the tax payers money. One of my largest project management pet peeves is waste. Unfortunately, from your post, it appears the government still suffers from a large amount of waste, fraud, and abuse. Thankfully, your job helps to mitigate that using many of the project management skills we learned in the course. Thank you for your work, and I hope you continue to improve the ability to stretch the tax payers dollars further (Jacobs, 2020). References
