Letter of Intent What are your short- and long-term career goals and how will this program prepare you for them?

My short-term goals are to get a very high quality education in the nursing field, learning as much as I can both with hands-on skills and academic-related skills and background informational sources that are relevant to nursing education. My long-term goal is to work in a healthcare setting as a Family Nurse Practitioner and/or an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. I have had a plan for many years to get the training and certification needed to provide holistic and pragmatic care for people who are sick or injured.

What do you view as key attributes of being a successful FNP/ACNP and why?

I believe there are several important qualities and attributes needed for the FNP/ACNP professional. Having good health, strong endurance, and besides physical endurance this nurse must have very strong mental endurance because nurse practitioners...

Next, this nurse has to be a good communicator, to be able to interact verbally with patients, families, and other professionals on the floor, including doctors. Patience is also an attribute that is vital to a nurse in this genre; when a patient is frustrated and insecure, the nurse practitioner must be calm and professional. Also, being a caring person is very important, and being a professional that encourages patients to follow procedures and be positive is a necessary part of the profession.
THREE: How will you dedicate the time and effort to be successful in the program?

I am fully prepared to give of my time, my talent, my energy, and my full attention to everything I am asked and required to do. I do not go into this program thinking I can breeze through or somehow just to what is necessary. My whole adult life I have been the kind of person who is dedicated to putting out 100% of my energy to accomplish my goals, and whatever time it takes to do this work, and get the training I need, I will eagerly make that investment.
