Personal statement on choosing dental school for advanced education

Dental Education: Why I am Interested in XXX Dental School

There are several reasons why I would like to attend XXX for my dental education. First, I live in Los Angeles, California. While it is beautiful here and there are fine schools nearby, I would prefer the experience of attending school away from home where I feel I can concentrate on my studies and not have the distractions that so often come from being close to one's home town, friends, and family. Basically, I am looking for a different atmosphere than what this part of California provides, and am hoping that XXX will accept me and give me the opportunity to pursue my education there.

Another reason I would like to attend XXX is that it is a very high-quality school that is known nationwide for its high standards in academics. This is very important to me, as I am a serious student and am interested only in learning and doing the best that I can in the process of obtaining my dental education. I am not looking to attend a college where I can party all of the time and just get by while getting a degree. I realize that there are many colleges like this, but I considered myself an intelligent individual and realize that kind of behavior will not hurt anyone but me by wasting my time and money. It is also possible that I would never finish school and realize my dreams if I had that kind of attitude about studies. Let me assure you that I do not, and that I take the pursuit of education very seriously.
