Physical Activity for Infant Room
Infants feel comfortable around their early caregivers, who are their parents. Parents are encouraged to involve infants in “tummy time” activities for muscle development, enhancement of motor skills, healthy bone development, and a sense of independence (Hewitt et al., 2020). Some of these activities could include promoting the young ones to lift their head, kicking and reaching for toys during tummy time, playing and rolling on the surface they are lying on (whether it is the floor, play mat, or the bed), moving fingers for grasping the nearby toys for better hand control, and crawling for instigating more curiosity and exploration around the surroundings.
With this comes a natural tendency of the babies to have a look around with new sights. It would also benefit them to see with one-on-one attention and play games like peek-a-boo. They would realize the significance of disappearing and returning with strong exploratory influence. It is expected that the developmental milestones of looking around and reacting, opening and closing of hands, kicking, balancing the body on the tummy, moving arms and legs freely, rolling, moving body, reaching for toys, etc. are achieved as they are more age-appropriate (Morin, n.d.).
Physical Activity for Early Childhood Room
The significance of physical activity in early childhood years cannot be overstated since it helps in cognitive development along with an upgraded social relationship with strong physical development. Without adult supervision, the free play could be a useful way to enhance physical development; however, specially designed activities for aiming at [articular physical targets are more age-appropriate.
Using large and soft balls to make early childhood children practice catching, kicking, throwing, and bouncing with the ball is one of the activities recommended for this age (Raising Children, 2022). They would be able to jump and stretch their muscle which is good for their motor skills at this age. Fortification of their competencies is expected to be the primary mechanism of physical activity. The guided sessions with the educators would assist these children in becoming comfortable with experiencing uncomfortable conditions, such as faster heart rate, perspiration, and muscle contractions (Crumbley et al., 2019).
The milestone of focusing on the environment with a tougher build of the body and gaining mastery in gaining self-esteem by winning would also help in cognitive development with catch and control activity. When children of this age engage in higher physical activity, obesity would be prevented with greater muscle and bone-building, even showing higher correlational results with academic achievement with greater focus and attention (Pate et al., 2020).
Physical Activity for Adolescent Room
Promoting a healthy lifestyle is now deemed one of the most important areas in early childhood physical and mental development. With a healthy and active lifestyle, disease prevention and longevity are expected to be achieved during a child’s crucial life years (Tao et al., 2022). During adolescence, indoor physical activities are designed for physical strengthening and conceptual development.
