Dear Team,

I hope this message finds you well. As we continue to strive for excellence in patient care, it is crucial that we uphold the highest standards of professionalism, privacy, and respect within our facility.

Recently, it has come to our attention that some staff members have been utilizing personal smartphones to capture photos and videos within the facility, sometimes with patients visible, and sharing them on personal social media accounts. Unfortunately, these actions have raised concerns about patient privacy, potential HIPAA violations, and the spread of inaccurate facility information.

Effective immediately, we are implementing a new Social Media and Smartphone Use Policy:

1. Personal smartphones should not be used while on duty, except during designated break times.

2. No photographs or videos taken within the facility, especially those including patients, should be posted on personal social media accounts.

3. Any information or news about the facility intended for sharing on any platform must first be approved by the Assistant Director of Nursing.
