Personal Statement As I Was Essay

As I have already pointed out elsewhere in this text, while growing up, I had the opportunity of interacting with various health professionals, amongst them nurses. From these interactions, I became aware that the profession does have its challenges. I am hence under no illusion whatsoever that nursing calls for sacrifice. I am ready to sacrifice so as to enhance the well-being of those who need my care the most i.e. patients. My working at the Home Depot Store also played a critical role in the enhancement of my personality in terms of my ability to relate well with others. My caring attitude, excellent interpersonal skills as well as ability to work under pressure make me an ideal candidate for a position in your institution. I plan to further enhance my nursing skills by enrolling for a Master of Science in Nursing. This will also broaden my perspective of nursing.
This position will give me an opportunity to offer myself to the service of others. Further, given that I am a person who does not shy away from challenges, I view this as an opportunity to test my professional capabilities. The position will also enable me to make unique contributions towards the accomplishment of your institution's mission, goals and objectives. I look forward to being a valuable asset to not only your institution but also its patients.

Like any other person, I have personal goals to accomplish. This position could help me accomplish these goals. However, what is of great significance to me is the role I will play in alleviating the suffering of others. In the final years of my life, I want to have lovely memories of people whose lives I touched. After all, as my mum used to say, "in the final analysis, what will be most important is how you impacted on the lives of others."
