B. Premise 2:
1 When we get down to it, there are really two kinds of pets that people have to choose between: dogs and cats.
a. Some people are cat people.
b. Some people are dog people.
C. Conclusionbut which is better? Dogs.
1 The fact of the matter is that cat people have made a mistake: cats are not the best petsdogs are. Cats are not even pets. Dogs are pets. Cats are like well-mannered roommates who tolerate your presence so long as you dont bother them too much.
2 Therefore, this speech will explain why dogs make better pets than cats.
Dogs have been known as man's best friend for centuries, and there are good reasons for this. Dogs make loyal, loving, and protective pets that form strong bonds with their owners. They are also highly intelligent animals that can be trained to perform a variety of tasks. In contrast, cats tend to be aloof and independent, and they are not nearly as trainable as dogs. Additionally, while all dogs need some exercise, some breeds are particularly energetic and require a lot of physical activity. This makes them ideal pets for people who enjoy spending time outdoors. For all these reasons, dogs typically make better pets than cats. So dogs are definitely known as "man's best friend" for a reason. They provide companionship, protection, and unconditional love.
But did you know that dogs can also do things that cats simply cannot? Here are five awesome things that dogs can do that cats cannot.
First off, dogs can be trained to perform a wide variety of tasks, from herding cattle to fetching a ball. On the other hand, cats generally only do what they want to do, when they want to do it. This means that they are not particularly good at following commands or learning tricks. Have you ever tried to tell a cat to go fetch? Have you ever tried to get a cat to jump through a hoop or bark at a suspicious person in the yard? Not happening. Ask a dog to do those thingsno problem! Now some of you might not believe thatbut...
According to Alpha Trained Dog (a dog training school), the very short and super over-simplified answer is yes, for the most part, all dogs are trainable.Secondly, dogs have an acute sense of smell which they use for a variety of purposes, from tracking down lost humans to sniffing out illegal drugs. Cats also have a keen sense of smell, but it is nowhere near as developed as a dog's. That is why police have dogsdogsnot cats. Dogs! No one has ever heard of a police cat. Police dogs, however, are so great Hollywood loves to make movies about them. Turner & Hooch. K-9. Top Dog.
And since were on the subject of dog movieslets consider that the best pet movies are all about dogs: Lassie, The Shaggy Dog, Old Yeller, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, Beethoven, Air Bud, Benji, Iron Will, All Dogs Go to Heaven, White Fang, Marely and Me, Balto, Eight Below (Tilford, 2015). Whats the best cat movie? Garfield. A movie about a lazy good-for-nothing snarky cat that couldnt hold a fur ball to Lassies heroics.
Third, dogs are social creatures who enjoy the company of their fellow canines and their humans. Cats, on the other hand,...
…to go on walks because they know its the least you can do to try to stay in shape. If they could get you to buy a Peloton they wouldbut they havent mastered the art of persuasion yet, so they just stand at the door and bark till you get the leash. We think its for thembut they know that its really for us. The dog will sit there and watch us watch TV for half the day before he decides its enough and its time for your walk. That is a good pet. No cat will ever do that for its owner. As for fooddogs need even less special food than cats. Dogs will eat whatever you eat for dinner. They dont care. Just throw your scraps on the floorit will be gone in about two seconds. Hold you plate down so your dog can clean it. Dogs are like dish washers and floor sweepers in that sense. Cats will turn their nose up at what youre having for dinner and demand that their food come from that shelf in the grocery aisle. Dogs dont mind. In fact, they will sit there and wait for you to feed them from the table. They think thats the way its supposed to be. Why? Simplebecause dogs are the perfect pet.
So in conclusion, Im sure you will all agree that dogs make better pets than cats based on all the many different points that I have just made. Basically we can sum it all up with a few words, though: dogs are pets; cats are not pets. Dogs love their humans. Cats are one wrong move away from moving out. Offend a dog, youll be forgiven (in fact, it is almost impossible to offend a dog). Offend a cat, and youll know it almost immediately. Dogs make better pets because they are essentially, really, ultimately the only real pet. Cats come into your home and take over, thinking…

PetsMart also must focus on the changing role of pets in families and how they are now seen as more than just animals; they are increasingly seen as members of the family and must as a result get their own hotel rooms and vacations when human members of their families also go on vacation. The growth of pet hotels exemplifies this trend. Capitalizing on this is highly profitable opportunity
Cisco.com for example has an entirely separate mini-site dedicated only to corporate social responsibility (CSR). PetsMart is deficient in this area as well; they could work to create a more interactive online experience for people visiting their site. There are no links to ask for donations for non-profit organizations; this would be a major improvement in the site design. Finally on business ethics, PetsMart has gone to the extent
Dogs of March by Ernest Hebert Hebert tries hard, I think, to depict the lives of the native rural denizens -- the Elmans and their friends -- as realistically as possible. What are the characteristics of their lives? What are their values, especially their attitude toward their land and nature? How do you think we are supposed to feel about them -- sympathetic? Are they romanticized in any ways? What
Nursing Search and Rescue Dogs Search and rescue is all about saving lives. And the capability to save a life is regularly dependent upon how quickly a person can be found and accessed (National Association for Search & Rescue, 2011). Search-and-rescue dogs are smart, nimble and compliant, but their high drive to want to play is what makes them look for a missing person in all kinds of different places and situations.
Obesity in Dogs and Cats Obesity and Diabetes in Cats and Dogs Unfortunately, we are not the only species to suffer from our over-indulgences and lack of proper dietary nutrition. Cats and dogs can also become victims of obesity and diabetes. The research has found that there are both genetic and dietary elements to obesity and diabetes within the two species, and that focusing on a proper diet can help vastly reduce
