¶ … master's program with SON, I had worked as a nurse in a hospital setting for 16 years. As a manager, I did gain some experience with informatics through patient satisfaction scores. The corporation I work for, HCA, is big on numbers. I would share the patient satisfaction scores with staff because it is a reflection on work performance. The patient satisfaction scores told employees where performance was good and what areas needed a higher focus for higher improvements in our work performance. After entering the master's program, Healthcare Research and Statistical Analysis was a requirement. This class was very valuable in how the SON helped me to learn. Assignments included how to apply for an IRB application process, literature review, research process, how research can contain strengths, weaknesses, and limitations, how information is interpreted and analyzed, as well as what the information can tell us. The literature review helped me see how there are gaps in research and in healthcare practices that require additional research to enable improvements in how health care is delivered to patients. Data analysis helped me to learn how the information can tell the bigger picture by examining what others have done before us as well as the outcomes. Learning to interpret articles and publications helped me to see how the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations can enable better study designs in future research to gain more knowledge.

Learning the statistical software application, helped me see where time is cut down…

Information technology transforms healthcare services. However, the integration of information technology into existing healthcare systems has been challenging. This course has helped me to understand how healthcare workers and their organizations can better utilize healthcare informatics, with the goal of improving patient outcomes and public health. Similarly, this course has illuminated specific pathways to success. Nurse leaders need to take concrete steps towards advocating for improved information technology integration, transforming

Past, present and future of Informatics and its relation to Nursing Education Not so long ago, nurses used to be trained apprenticeship model. Senior doctors and nurses used to provide on-job training to those who showed interest in the field of nursing. However, it was soon made into a more professional program and students started being taught theoretical concepts in school before proceeding to hospitals and other health facilities for internship.

Self-AssessmentSelf-assessment is an important tool for healthcare professionals, including those pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, to evaluate their own knowledge, skills, and abilities in relation to their profession\\\'s competencies (Mantzourani et al., 2019). The purpose of self-assessment in relation to DNP competencies and population-based health and healthcare disparities is to identify areas for improvement and to develop strategies to address them (Kulhanek, 2022). This paper will provide

Computers Used by Nurses The area of interest in nursing informatics are nursing information, nursing data and nursing knowledge. The present state of knowledge related to these phenomena proposes four implications for the development of systems to assist nursing. First, research suggests that experience and knowledge is linked to the quality of nursing assessment, diagnosis or clinical inference, and planning of nursing care, and also that knowledge is task-specific Information technology

The cryptic messages many software uses and codes that must be looked up slow down the learning process. I have also observed that there is a lack of standards for nursing software and systems, including a wide variation in the use of informatics standards across systems. This made learning these systems difficult as each system had a drastically different logic workflow. The use of analytics within informatics systems and

Each standardized nursing language is designed for use in a number of clinical settings, including home care, ambulatory care, and inpatient treatment, with certain languages providing decided advantages within particular circumstances. Although it is true that "improved communication with other nurses, health care professionals, and administrators of the institutions in which nurses work is a key benefit of using a standardized nursing language" (Rutherford, 2008), the proliferation of several
