Knowing the strategies required in budgeting is an advantage since it can help an organization manage its finances and improve on financing skills. This can help in future opportunities of work, in the maintenance of a reasonable budget, tips of budget strategies are essential. In short, a budget strategy is an approach that is, in most cases, formal and helps in managing particular fund collection. Other uses of budgeting strategies are to assist in reaching financial goals; this ensures that the accounting departments can pay for the expenses and invest in future opportunities. There are several budgeting strategies, and it depends on the goals to be achieved for choosing a specific budget strategy.

Additionally, the process of creating long-range budgets within one year is referred to as strategic budgeting. The intention of doing this is to assist in developing plans supporting visions of an entity that are long-range. In our case, where our primary reference is the criminal justice agencies, the budgeting is done annually (Stojkovic et al., 2014). Therefore, it is possible that the activities planned in this period may not be completed within that time using a single budget hence the need for a multi-year initiative. Getting involved in strategic budgeting will be a core component in our research of this assignment. This will make the criminal agencies achieve long-term improvements in strategic positioning.

The strategic budget plan of concern, in this case, is that of California in the fiscal year 2020-2021 and 2021-2022. Below is a budget plan overview of California.

A strategic budget has less detailed revenue and is less concerned with the expense items found in the annual budget. Instead, the items are represented in smaller numbers, focusing significantly on goals. The budget, therefore, helps to focus on competitive threats, growth options, and risk management that help in focusing on future developments. Formulating a budget is, thus, a process that begins with a strategy so that there can…
