Personal Statement Have Been Working

Personal Statement have been working with computers long before I ever thought of them as a career opportunity. After finishing high school, however, I found my skills in high demand, and spent the next several years, from 1997-2000, working for Volaris Online and ADT Security as a database analyst and Technical Trainer. While there, I was able to use my expertise to reduce customer service calls by developing a series of development/end-user manuals and a host of other software solutions. I began to see that I could not advance much further on the knowledge I gained purely from experience, however, and spent the next two years earning my Associates Degree in Computer Science at the Daytona Beach Community College before transferring to Florida State University to earn my Bachelor's.

At the same time as my transfer, I began working at Direct Mail Express, again in the capacity of Technical Trainer and Database Analyst. My experience already served me well, and my education gave me an additional advantage. I was soon placed in charge of designing and developing shared software components that were used in enterprise-wide operations. In my capacity as technical Trainer, I not only designed and implemented training programs, but also identified specific training needs. My interpersonal skills were soon as in demand within the company as my technical knowledge and experience; I was asked to recruit and train members of the advertising team in addition to those working directly under me, and by the time I left Direct mail Express I had been places in charge of the as/400 central office switch without any job-specific training, which came directly out of my job as lead installer on a large scale project.

Upon graduation from Florida State University, I began searching for a more advanced position in another company. In addition, I began to examine other avenues for continuing my education. I found both within a year of each other; I began studying in the Managerial Information Systems Master's program at Nova Southern University, and found a position as a Technical Support Analyst at Embarq, a Fortune 500 company. My accomplishments here were built directly on the knowledge and experience I had previously acquired; I analyzed the business systems, it operations, and user needs, and developed and implemented strategies to address inefficiencies I discovered. Over a two-year period, I led over 150 installation projects, maintaining a 125% efficiency rating. I was also specially selected by management to head a critical installation project for a key client. My performance led to this client's decision to integrate a new piece of equipment into their nation-wide network.
