Toxicology After taking the position and working for the World Health Organization, the researcher has been tasked with re-evaluating the current policies outlined in their Position Statement. Also, this position statement in the document is what summarizes the issues that are surrounding the usage of DDT for vector-control reasons.

What types of toxicology data would you need to make this decision?

One of the data used would be the safety data that proves that it is not safe for humans. This information goes onto show that DDT has a low acute toxicity especially when the skin comes in contact with it, but if a human being swallows it, then it becomes is more toxic and must be kept out of the reach of children. On account of the chemical stability of DDT, it gathers in the environment by means food chains and in tissues of wide-open organisms, as well as people living in treated houses. This information shows that there has been given rise to concern in relative to likely long-term toxicity.

Also this data shows that the risks that DDT poses to human health have been re-assessed by WHO whenever there is important new scientific data. This information shows that they undertook a comprehensive re-evaluation of DDT and its primary metabolites as well as storage of DDT and its metabolites in human body fat; the presence of residues in human milk and the potential carcinogenicity; and biochemical and toxicological information plus hormone-modulating effects. Even though a wide range of effects were described...

Studies are showing a variety of human health effects related to DDT such as the following:
breast & other cancers male infertility miscarriages & low birth weight developmental delay nervous system & liver damage

2. Use the four phases of the disposition of a toxic compound to assess the toxicity of DDT.

Absorption

It is clear that DDT is able to come inside the body through a range of means. These consist of lung and skin exposure; on the other hand, the unsolvable nature of DDT means when it comes in interaction with these tissues it will occur as crystals that are frequently too large to pass through the membranes barrier. Therefore, these routes of administration are minor causes of exposure.

Distribution

Also there is information that explains the fact that the DDT once it has been taken into the serum, very willingly just transfers all over the body and collects in the fatty (adipose) tissue all over the organs. In actual fact, fat accumulation in humans after long-term DDT management was discovered to be 300 times higher than in the urine or the blood, assisting the assumption that DDT is an extremely fat-soluble type of compound.

Metabolism

So as to render the DDT molecules are much more water solvable, enzymes in the liver are then utilized by the body in order to accomplish detailed chemistry. Responses that participate with a major role in the key metabolism of DDT consist of dehydrochlorination, dechlorination, reduction, oxidation, and hydroxylation, all…

Discussions and studies on the health consequences of DDT use have focused around reducing infant illness and death from vector control. "In laboratory experiments, effects of DDT include hepatic and central nervous system toxicity, estrogenic and antiandrogenic effects, and possible carcinogenicity" (Chen and Rogan, 2003). Some evidence has suggested that DDT exposure increases the risk of preterm delivery and shortens the length of lactation. If this evidence holds true then

Animal Testing Negatives of Animal Testing Outweigh Its Positives and Therefore Should Not be Allowed Many cures and treatments have been developed in the last three hundred years due to advances in medical technology. These developments are sometimes attributed partly to the fact that scientists and researchers have been able to use animals as "guinea pigs" for testing new medications or treatment methods before passing them to human volunteers. There is strong

According to Spiegel & Velga, the world community has recently developed a set of International Guidelines on Mercury Management in Small-Scale Gold Mining. As Spiegel & Velga report, "commissioned by the United Nations Global Mercury Project, the purpose of the guidelines is to assist policymakers,

This engages a calm and quiet, however from time to time overjoyed state of mind. At high dosages, it can cause illusions. The consequences last from two to four hours after the drug is used and it mostly leaves the user of the marijuana in a calm condition for more than a few hours after getting high. One of the main invigorating properties is that temporary memory is reserved
