An innovative care delivery system

Healthcare innovation remains a driving factor in the ongoing effort to strike the right balance between cost conservation and healthcare quality. Business productivity and economic sustainability are seen to be dependent on innovation. New technologies open up a world of possibilities for product development. Innovation in health care is defined as the introduction of a new concept, idea, service, process or product aimed at improving treatment, diagnosis, education, outreach, prevention, and research and with the long term goals of improving quality, safety, outcomes, efficiency and costs (Omachonu & Einspruch, 2010).
