Admission PhD feel that my experiences as a professional academic librarian and my familiarity with teaching make me a uniquely qualified candidate for the Ph.D. program in Educational Policy with the Department of Educational Policy and Administration at your university. Taken together, these two important experiences have given me important and irreplaceable exposure to essential research skills, as well as provided me with a first-hand insight into the field of education. Currently, I am employed as a full time professional academic librarian at the University of Washington in Seattle. During this internship, I assisted professors at Florida State University London Study Center with their research. Here, I benefited from the experience of conducting research outside of the United States, and also benefited from exposure to the rigors of academic research at an international level.
After this internship, I secured a job as a media specialist at a high school. This position allowed me an unexpected first-hand exposure to the world of education. The economics teacher fell ill the last half of the school year, and I was subsequently recruited to teach Economics and American Government to seniors.
