Education Richard Rodriguez and Mike Rose both write about their education. In "I Just Wanna Be Average," Mike Rose recounts his experience in Catholic school as an Italian-American from a working class family background. The United Kingdom (and Northern Ireland) used to provide free higher education to all native Brits, but contemporary economic realities have forced UK and Northern Ireland colleges and universities to charge up to the approximate equivalent of $6,000 annually to offset the enormous cost of education. Unlike Canada, Britain provides higher education at the same price for students from Continental European nations but charges students from other nations more

My past has shown my willingness to maximize the opportunities presented to me, and this scholarship will give me an opportunity I would not otherwise be afforded. I have in the past overcome obstacles. In classes which the subject has not come easily to me I have found extra help and spent extra time to do well. In particular, there was a math class in which the concepts seemed like a foreign language. Yet I

These are understandable from an organizational standpoint, but they negatively impact the employees -- my generation more than the older generations. In this order of ideas, most of the companies which downsize their staff members apply the rule of LIFO -- last in, first
