Module 01 Question 01: Preservation of the existing ecosystems

Various measures have been put in order to modify and contain the natural state of the ecosystem. Preservation is one of the approaches that have been used to foster equitable management of the ecosystem. Through preservation, it has become evident that the ecosystem has taken a different understanding from the avenue of human perception. For instance, rules and regulations that help to protect the ecosystem have changed the entire perception of the ecosystem globally. Initially before the establishment of preservation approaches, the ecosystem was getting devastated gradually. Nonetheless, modification has come with the introduction of laws and regulations that work towards protection and preservation of the available avenues in the market.

Through the rules and regulations created, the ecosystem has achieved a new state of protection in the society. For instance, the living and non-living matter has been protected through the establishment of safer sites where they are able to thrive in their natural state. It is evident that most of the approaches and modifications in this field are aimed at protecting the existing species of the existing terms and conditions in the natural world. More modification is reflected on how the world has taken concern over the importance of having a difference between the manufactured features and those that are natural.

Awareness has been heightened in various parts of the world. Awareness refers to the creation of knowledge over the importance of having a palatable ground of holding the essence of having the ecosystem dwell within its natural sense. With the creation of awareness, it has been made possible for all the concerned parties to take part in protecting the rights and avenues of the ecosystem. Through the creation of awareness, the ecosystem has been given a prominent perception from those who would be been agents of change and destruction. For instance, the establishment of equitable avenues of protecting the interests of the components of the ecosystem lies on the rudimentary measures put through awareness activities.

The ecosystem has been presented as one of the facets that are under threat globally. The ecosystem is presented as an endangered species that requires intense protection. Preservation measures are directed at establishing the best forms of approaches that will help to protect the ecosystem in the universe. For instance, the rules and regulations established under this category are directed at establishing the best fields of protection of the ecosystem and its components globally (Woodward, 2011).

Module 01 Question 02: Laws of Thermodynamics

The laws of thermodynamics are concerned with preservation of energy from the environment. The three laws of thermodynamics are concerned with preservation of everything that is obtained from the environment. The law relates conservation of energy within an equilibrium state. The law deals with systems, one of the systems being the natural ecosystem globally. The ecosystem is a system that should be protected in whatever way possible. According to the law, the changes in the internal energy of the ecosystem, since it is closed, should be equal to the total amount of heat supplied to the ecosystem. This should be less the work done by the ecosystem to its surrounding. In short, the law postulates that the environment should not lose any form of energy into the outside. All the energy that is within should be consumed without destruction of the innate balance. Aspects that destroy the atmosphere and the ecosystem like global warming are declared unwanted and not working with regard to the law.

The other laws of thermodynamics relate protection of the ecosystems. Systems are meant to provide energy without losing their normal states in the environment. In order to foster equitable preservation of energy, it is crucial to have stable state avenues that help to relay how different avenues of growth and development within the environment are managed. It is easy to preserve the environment using the laws of thermodynamics. Taking the ecosystem as the system in thermodynamics, all the energy produced by the system should be protected without any loss.

With such considerations, it becomes easy to have activities and occurrences like hunger, global warming, and biomagnifications under firm protection. Hunger arises due to imbalanced states within the systems. Such states should not arise since they promote in equilibrium in the system. Moreover, global warming is a fact that imbalances the normal existence of stability within the systems at hand. The protection measures that deal with global warming and hunger have common relationships with those concerned with creating a balance in thermodynamic systems. For instance, various reactions like adiabatic are concerned with the creation of a balance in the systems. Such systems represent the ecosystem (Miller & Spoolman, 2012).

Module 02 Question 01: Example of an environment whose carrying capacity may have been exceeded already

Overpopulated environment

This refers to an environment that has its carrying capacity exceeded. The capacity of the natural environment is contained in its natural state. Overpopulating with human settlements and animal use stretches on the usability of the available resources in the environment. In the end, it becomes hard for the environment to provide for the living matter. When such a state has been attained in the environment, it becomes hard to have a good management of the environment. Overpopulation can result due to the high number of people or animals dwelling in a given space. Overpopulation is rudimentary to the existence of depletion in the environment. In many cases, it has been hard to manage human or animal and plant matter in the environment. Human occupation of a given place declares its resources and natural state at unstable conditions. When such an environment cannot manage to provide all the necessary food and other materials to the animals, it results in overexploitation of the few available resources. In most cases, it becomes easy to have a finite stat in which the animals will stop consuming materials from the environment because they feel that the environment is running out of these materials.

Overpopulation leads to destruction of several features within the ecosystem. For instance, plants and animals, which were surviving in this environment, will have to change their places of residence. In order to live within a given state of management, it is relevant ensure that the resources available are enough to the present environmental agents. Animals consume products from the environment. On the other hand, further necessities like plants are destroyed within an overpopulated environment.

Human over-population results in further destruction and pollution of the ecosystem. For instance, overpopulation results in pollution of the environment through waste materials and gases that are released by the occupants. In most cases, it is hard to develop and foster increased productivity within an environment that is overpopulated. Overpopulation has often been regarded as an immediate enemy to the existence stabile and sustainable environment. The ecosystem is dependent on various aspects from human contributions to animal contributions. Furthermore, overpopulation results in stoppage of the growth process that is attained naturally by the ecosystem (Zeaman, 2001).

Module 02 Question 02: Green Revolution

Green Revolution is an agricultural initiative that is designed at increasing the output of agricultural activities globally. Food production is one of the tentative aspects in human and animal life. Equitable food production serves to better human and animal health in the ecosystem. Moreover, equitable production of food materials is a healthy issue that promotes the health of the environment. In most cases, food production has not been sustainable in the environment. Failed sustainability has resulted in the destruction of the environment because of human search for alternative processes and ways of getting food materials for use. In the modern agriculture activities, Green Revolution has been a call to increase food production.

Green Revolution concerns intensive and large-scale production of food materials. Through plantations and forest-like settlements, Green Revolution assists in creation a scenario where two things are done at the same time. In most cases, Green Revolution has been a significant boost in food production. With the use of the available resources to facilitate food production, it has been easy to access food materials globally. On the other hand, the environment has regained its initial avenues of sustainability and health.

Since its establishment in 1943, Green Revolution has been a significant contributor of food availability around the globe. Most developed nations have benefited a terrific deal through practice of Green Revolution programs. The program has been a significant boost in protecting the interest of the environment while providing enough food materials for plants and animals. The existence of an equitable environment for production is a focus that is given many highlights when it comes to management of Green Revolution. Furthermore, through the effects and influences of Green Revolution, many ecosystems have regained their initial stages of production and sustainability. Human pollution on environments and other practices like overpopulating have been reduced with the embrace of Green Revolution in the environment.…
