Various studies have been conducted on the impact of mental illnesses at the community level. For instance, in a study that examined the rate of mental disorders among adults and children at the community level, Healthy People (2020) predicted that 1 in 17 adults had a serious mental illness while 1 in 4 adolescents had mental health disorders within the last one year - the most common disorders being depression or anxiety. On the other hand, one in five children had attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The said data proves that mental illness is a major problem. This is an indication that current interventions have failed to address gaps between practice and evidence on the prevention front.

Business research process is unique in that it may be tailored to individual types of organizations and their needs. For example, business research for a large, multinational pharmaceutical company would have slightly different needs than that a local fast-food franchise group. However, there are six basic steps that most every business research project should cover: Appraisal -- Before any research can be done, it is important to do an honest assessment

Marketing Research Process and Research Methods The four steps in the marketing research process are designed to capture the information and insights needed to make better strategic and tactical decisions, gain greater intelligence on customer needs, and ultimately create greater value for a company. One business research method that has been used to good effect by some companies is the data envelope analysis methodology developed by Charnes and his colleague (1978, cited in Marcoulides at p. 122). According to Marcoulides (1998), "This method is used to evaluate the relative efficiency of a set of decision-making units (DMUs)" (p. 122). The term "decision making unit" was coined by Charnes and his associates to describe a

It is in the nursing homes job description, that the nursing staff employed should be certified, and be able to perform a number of tasks in order to better understand the patient. This includes an assessment of the patient's mental status and thought process, an understanding of the patient's health concerns, ailments and other physical issues, with an open discussion between the nurse and the patient of anything troubling

Mental Health Service Reimbursement How have changes in reimbursement and medications been a major driver in these policy and treatment changes? As a Chief Nursing Officer, one must be at once informed of the practical, day-to-day challenges of nursing in the field and of the administrative realities shaping the occupation. With respect to the latter, it is important to understand the implications of insurance, Medicare and coverage terms and conditions. These frequently

Mental Health Policies and Legislation It is not humane nor is it dignified to allow any living person to live in a florid psychosis; this would be a cruel and odd punishment. In the Australian medical practice, the health laws and regulations dictate that, doing the legal thing in the course of duty is not sufficient, but rather the professional must do what is morally right.
