The company offers high quality and environmentally friendly transportation services to the people. The company operates in cities, airports, universities and companies. Clients sought for Veolia services in operating their transport systems. Throughout the years, Veolia has been a leading transportation company in North America. Its contribution to the transport system has improved mobility of people within cities by providing multiple transportation systems to ease congestion and lessen time spent in travelling. Consumer need satisfaction should be the goal for any business on the planet

Citizens today face many challenges; an increase in gas prices and congestion due to population increase and even due to oppressive policies. Veolia comes in to improve the mobility of passengers in North America by offering appealing transportation solution that assist passengers move to their preferred destinations, offer convenient transport in terms of assurance and economically friendly, the company use well managed transit solutions, which reduces air traffic and thus combat climate change. Veolia activities have also spurred economic growth in regions of operations this has led to rise of shopping malls and other forms of business

1.2 Veolia's reputation

Veolia touches the lives of people living in North America the company offers transportation services. The company offer bus to rail services, light rail services to taxi services to provide exceptional services to consumers. Veolia operation covers North America's cities from Los Angeles railway line to the historical lines, San Francisco, Seattle, Baltimore, Washington, Denver and in Dallas.

The company has executive team members and other workers who ensure smooth running of activities within its routes. It has professionals who handle matters relating to, customer service, environmental compliance, labor relations and in business technology and information technology. Veolia's operations influence the livelihood of its citizens, but it is also prudent to analyze the reverse of this where the government and the citizens influence the company. Veolia operates in many regions and cities. It has employed thousands of workers, thus improving lifestyle of many families. While bus and rail transport services offer sustainable transport solution to the economy and to the needs of citizens. Viola Transportation Company is a campaigner of green solutions in combating climate change.

Company's Responsibilities

Viola has the responsibility for the safety and the health of its consumers. The company is also responsible for the needs of its employees. The management board at Viola Transportation Company has the mandate of ensuring employee satisfaction. Putting the needs of employees is the first goal of Veolia Transportation Company. The company has an experienced and well-trained management team to look into the needs of employees. The company also meets the needs of its customers by ensuring that staff managing transactions have necessary skills, well trained and can handle any problem that may arise (Alexanderson & Hulten, 2005). This strategy will help us manage outcomes and in processing challenges. To achieve there is a need to activate and develop new and effective approaches.

People's Owned Business

Implementation of Veolia transportation company's operations results; when all stakeholders to the system participate in its operations. This requires leadership participation and an effective communication system for information movement. The company should invest a lot on the people they serve by engaging the community in programs or activities that enhance mutual understanding and foster good neighborhood. The strategy also touches on the environmental performance of the firm. The environmental performance ensures that clean sources of energy: pollutions in the form of garbage, air, and water pollution are minimal, and this is ensuring that people limit their movements in the form of air transport and dispose waste according to regulations. The strategy includes the following strands: Environmental analysis, Ethical leadership, organization viability, the people or community and legal issues. The strategy also looks at the importance of doing the right thing at the right time and in the right way.

Is the company's operation environmentally friendly?

The importance of doing environmentally friendly operations in the transport system is far much rewarding. By undertaking measures in ensuring that tasks are environmentally friendly, the company benefits in the form of reputation and avoids consequences related to health and safety standards of employees. In promoting environmentally friendly programs, Veolia Transportation Company will gain recognition and gain customers. Since the communities surrounding the company are the main beneficiaries of these products, Veolia interest is ensuring that we boost their needs with the aim of gaining reputation and use of services (Yunus, Moingeon & Lehmann-Ortega, 2010). Issues to do with climate change are very essential. Veolia has a strategy on waste disposal; every employee sensitized on the importance of waste disposal. Veolia campaigns for conservation and has designated dustbins at every location within cities. Machinery maintained regularly to ensure low emissions, and hazardous waste disposed according to regulations.

Are the employee and customer contributions observed?

Employees are the critical assets that we have in the organization. It is their right to good treatment to avoid high labor turnover and strikes. Organizations must compensate them effectively. At Veolia, compensation of the employees will be a costly affair, but at the end, productivity will improve hence meeting the requirements of customers. For sustainability, the company observes all regulations that cover the operations. Veolia observes safety, and health standards of passengers and its staff. Reliable and environmentally friendly sources of power used in operation to minimize on the cost of production.

Is it a legal thing to do?

Regulations by many market players and in many countries manage transport companies. Non-compliance practices of a business lead to risk exposure in terms of cost and reputation. Family members of employees of the company suffer, and the company has to pay extra costs. It is the duty of the company to avoid violation of environmental laws and other forms of laws.

Rules and Practices

According to Chen & Bouvain (2009), in relation to the nature of operation of this company, the following are the principles to observe; Company's employees and customers have a right to safe working environment, everyone should be responsible for their own health and safety and finally everyone should protect the environment.


Veolia believes that good safety health of employees and environmental management are key features to the development of a good business (McWilliams & Siegel, 2001). This 3-year strategy seeks to minimize accidents, reduce ill health, improve the environment and at the end of it improve the financial ability of the company. The following are those strategies chosen: the first of the strategies of the company is to reduce accidents by 50%, secondly the firm's aims is to improve the environment by, improving the efficiency of using resources, development of biodiversity action plans, implement Eco stations and enhance employees programs that promote environmental friendly practices.

Good practices/leadership

According to Chen & Bouvain (2009), Veolia will develop a strategy that focuses on improvement of performance and in the coordination of efforts in solving safety problems, environmental problems, management problems profitability issues and legal problems. This strategy based on rigorous practices; ensure results achievement. Veolia strategy includes strategies that relate to safety of employees, environmental management, legal considerations, and profitability of the company, ethical leadership and concept of integration with the community. Ethical leadership is critical in meeting customers' needs, initiating innovations to gain a competitive edge. Ethical leadership motivates employees to maximize on their potential and encourages a culture of mutual respect.

Organizations strength and weaknesses

This strategy relates to people, the firm and activities that go on in the company. The strategies main objective is to influence a positive culture towards safety at Veolia.

The strategy looks at hazards in relation to actions taken to limit the risks. Mobile hazards to the company include motor vehicles or trains that may hit employees. Control of vehicles movements will reduce accidents.

Physical hazards that include noise, mechanical hazards relating to cranes, chemical hazards that my affect employees, hazards due to electric shocks should be limited by providing protective gear, improving facilities, providing engineering controls and training employees on safety standards.

"Ethical leadership"

Leadership is an integral part for Veolia. The company has many executives at various departments. To meet this need for ethical leadership, executives have to undergo training to enhance their skills on ethics. Recommendations on building workable relationships within teams developing a culture of openness and honesty and consideration on strategies of maximizing the contribution of employees put in force. Every employee should be encouraged to become an active member of the community.
